The ball valves worked fine, the angled adaptors on the other hand had me chasing a leak for a couple hours.. swapped the nylon seals with the rubber ones, still leaked. Ended up being where the flare fitting is crimped/pressed (?) To the tube.. I would assume the majority of people getting these are familiar with soldering or brazing.. so before you beat your head on the wall chasing a leak, just solder the fitting to the tube and they work like a charm. After that, you cant beat the price... ... show more

Used this to be able to quickly shut off my flush bottle when cleaning out the HVAC systems. The valves are a little stiff to work at first but they're doing well now. All color coded, which is a must when doing this work. No leaks so far but the white sleeves don't feel as durable as my previous set. The bag of valve stems and the removal tool will come in handy in due time. Nice kit to add accessorize existing equipment. ... show more

This set is a decent quality brass HVAC hose fitting set. It's better than much of the cheapo auto-parts store quality hose hardware. The machining is good but not outstanding. This is not Ritchey Engineering professional caliber tools but it is excellent for a backup set of gauges or as a leave-behind for awkward installations or overnight leave-behinds for leakdown tests where concerns about thieves are real. Machining is accurate and valves, while stiff, do not leak. The plastic levers aren't a "until the end of time" lever, so be prepared to use a set of pliers on them several years in the future. The supplied rebuild kit has new seals to address the inevitable hardening and wear of the installed seals. The Schrader valve cores and depressor are a nice bonus. All told, this is good apprentice/backup/leave behind set. It's a horses-for-courses set. ... show more

if you doing service work or are doing top offs a great set allows work on many different brands and Refrigerant sources needs a case or bag to keep organized and clean though...so get one right off they shoul dhave included so I dropped a star

I really appreciated this little kit. I am retired, but I have my HVAC cert and still keep up my own home units, much to my wife's pleasure. :-) This kit features a lot of handy connections for matching up my standard 1/4" fittings on deep vacuum pumps, recovery pumps, gas cylinders and so forth. It is the kind of thing every pro is going to have, but it can be harder for others to get their hands on without spending quite a bit of money. This kit fills a good niche, and will likely lead to a lot less wasted/leaked refrigerant. These are not quite heavy duty professional daily use tools, but they are more than adequate for a guy like me, who just wants to keep my mini-splits going, or wants to recover freon prior to decommssioning old R-22 equipment (instead of "accidentally leaking off refrigerant" :-/ which is what I know some guys and gals do...) I'm just not willing to lie about that, so having adaptors and stop valves and fresh Schrader valves and so forth is part of keeping my word according to the licensing and training the EPA required me to get in order to carry a refrigerant handling license! (...even though I am retired now.) I'm not casting stones at anyone else - just saying that if you want to do a good workmanlike job on your equipment, it is very handy to have this kit. It solved a few problems for me, comes in a minimalist environmentally friendly package, and seems up to the task for the occaisional weekend warrior retired HVAC guy. I give it 5 stars overall, with the caveat that it is DIY/Weekend warrior level of overall build quality. ... show more
