Needed to dig up fence vinyl posts set in concrete. This helped out immensely. It is heavy but it does the job. Price is excellent. Renting a machine would never have been an option as outright ownership allowed me to spread work over several days. Can't comment on durability. First the god. This Jack hammer/demo hammer works very well, I own 5 acres in a very rocky area in Arizona. I’ve been hand digging most of the things I needed dug, using a shovel and digging bar. But my back just can’t keep up with the digging bar anymore. This hammer is lighter than most that I’ve used, but still keeps up very well. As you can see from the picture the hole is 5’ x 5’ x 9’ I started with a mini ex but ran into some really large rock and used the hammer to get through the rock and meet the depth I needed. Worked exactly as it should. The bits hold up unexpectedly well. I would highly recommend. Now The reason for only four stars is the hammer came with a broken handle. Replacement parts seem hard to come by. It’sa small break in one of the screw holes that hold the handle together, but it pinches as you use it. So I had to use gloves because it causes blisters where it pinches me. All in all I really like it and hope it holds up a long time. ... show more

I used this for a few hours, and it works very well. It took a bit of getting used to how it works best, but after that it was simple to operate, and it easily chiseled through concrete and rock. I am very happy with it. The only small difficulty was that I didn't read through the whole specifications to find where it told about the proper lubricant to use in it. For the price, this is an excellent buy. I bought it Wednesday, received it Friday and had the concrete chipped out Saturday. I couldn’t be happier. Why did I buy this? The price was comparable to having someone dig out the 3’x3’x18” concrete pad that city left behind when they cut out the post office box and moved it down the street. But buying it to DIY this allowed me have a tool to own rather than just paying someone to do it for me. Instruction manual is bad. Very small writing, poor broken English and ai found it just so much easier to YOUTUBE the info I needed. Like getting the right oil, because you must add oil prior to using and that is not included. Or how to replace bits. The tool casing gets hot quickly, but doesn’t seem to impart the function. Another reason to use nature the oil is filled correctly. The weather was about 60 degrees. So a hot summer day may affect this more than it did for me. I was chipping away 18” concrete. So it was a serious job. Took me about 3-4 hours given the tool’s capabilities. The 3600 version may be better given the slightly higher price, but it didn’t come with the 4 attachments. Which coke in handy to dig out a bit that gets “stuck” Tool vibration is a lot less than I expected. I have significant arthritis in my hands and was not overly bothered through the work. The throttle lock button on the trigger was awesome. I used it 99 % of the time. I wore inexpensive hearing protection and had zero issues with the sound of the concrete chipping and tool noise. The gloves were nice, but I doubt they will last more than one or two jobs like I did today. I used my sunglasses for eye protection because the included eye protection looked uncomfortable and was about the same or less protection than my oakleys. Productivity is good. But because it is a lower powered version, the optimal technique is the chip edges because this doesn’t really smash very well. So you can’t just put it in the center and have it obliterate the concreted. This is not that tool. That just gets your bit stuck. Hypothetically speaking of course. Pics show the pad I was taking out. The end result and the type of breakable bits I could break with this tool. ... show more

It tore through a 6 inch tall, 24 inch deep, 36 inch wide concrete step in under 15 minutes. The only thing that slowed it down was the wire mesh reinforcement. The plastic case was damaged when it arrived, but I believe the delivery guy dropped it... so not from the factory. Not too heavy, easy to operate. Well worth the money! ... show more
