Provide a safer and more comfortable driving environment for you. Voice commands (available in English, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese) support: take photo, turn on/off Wi-Fi, turn on/off screen, turn on/off audio, lock the video, video start, show the front/rear camera, show both cameras, etc.

  • [ Reliable Features for Emergency Recording ] The included wireless remote control is perfect for saving and locking important videos and photos while driving, so you won't be distracted and drive more safely. When a collision is detected, the built-in G-sensor will instantly record and lock the video to the Event folder, so you don't lose critical evidence you might need. Seamlessly looping video will automatically overwrite old files to make room for new ones.
  • [ Easy to Install and Use & Night Vision 2.0 & Lifetime Customer Care ] In parking mode, the low-light night vision function diagnoses the surrounding brightness in real-time, enabling the dashcam to record a clearer and brighter image of the current environment with low surrounding illumination. We provide a lifetime warranty service for the dashcam, and free replacement within 18 months. If you need a longer rear camera cable (29.5ft), please contact the Vantrue support team to get it.

  • Yes, you can read license plates
Size: E2
I wanted to be able to read license plates from the recordings and photos taken by a dashcam, as well as have more visibility than just out the front window - and this unit does it. The clarity in the Sony cameras' images is excellent, along with its night vision. You're safer using a dashcam that can pick up on these things. Another thing I wanted was a camera that could see more than just ahead, as what happens if you get hit from behind? Now, with the E2's rear camera, that's covered as well, and with similar clarity. Though in my case, the rear window is at more of an angle, and doesn't have wipers, so it's not going to have the same clear pictures just because it's got to look through more glass, the window defroster, and some occasional rain drops. Still, if the person behind me is looking at their cell phone while driving, I think the camera will be able to tell. The resolution is 2596 x 1944 at 24FPS, though you can select a lower resolution if you want to have smaller videos and photos placed on the card (giving more available history). I'm using a 256 GB Samsung memory card, and it's plenty for me, even though both cameras are recording simultaneously. The field of view is 160 degrees, which covers a lot of the forward and backward views. Like most dashcams, it won't be recording someone driving into you from the side, but in that case, you would be able to show that you had the light when you drove into the intersection, for example. And yes, when you take a photo, it takes a photo out of both cameras and stores them separately. You can even use the camera to see the back cam's view if you'd like, but I wouldn't want to rely on the small screen if trying to make driving decisions that way. Another nice feature is the voice command. At first, I thought it was a bit gimmicky, but I actually found it useful in giving common commands, such as Take A Picture or Turn Microphone Off. It works consistently and almost always recognizes my voice and my passenger's voice if I can remember the exact command. I haven't tried using the included remote - not sure I will, as it's not really needed. Installation instructions are clear, though I did watch the installation video so I had a good idea of how it would go. I did trim down the mounting plastic to fit well behind my rear-view mirror without having to touch the painted part of my windshield (I think that's paint, and I didn't want to risk pulling that off should I need to remove the 3M plastic part). Feels strong and secure, unlike a typical suction mount. The 20-foot cable that connects the front cam to the back was plenty long enough in my sedan, with extra cable looped up in the roof area. I did use the small tool that let me pull the trim out of the way to get the cable easily behind the trim parts. I will want to see how well it survives the heat of summer. Speaking of which, the capacitor eliminates the concern that heat will damage the battery, which is a nice touch. The app was easy to follow, and relatively easy to connect to the camera. Just remember that the camera needs to be NOT in recording mode, and then turn on wifi (voice commands can help with this, or just hold in the bottom right button to bring up the wifi selection menu). Then on your phone, select the band (2.4 or 5) and then click on the camera icon to connect. You can then view stored images, or click the Edit button to select which images or videos to download to your phone. Once on your phone, you can sync them with your photos folder to make them available outside of the app. The unit tracks GPS and when displaying the video in the desktop app, it shows on the map the starting and ending points of the video on the map. Great for finding the video that applies to a specific map location. Photos and videos can be taken separately, although you can always screen capture a video frame. This dashcam has a lot of strengths, and I'm liking it. After being in a head-on collision with the other driver at fault and arbitration couldn't prove fault as it was he-said she-said, I suggest to EVERYONE to get a dash cam. Wish I had one in my past case, but I do now and always will from now on. And this one will make it easy to get the video from the camera as soon as the accident occurs so the fault can be identified asap. A couple of things I wish were different with this dashcam is how the wifi works. I thought that I'd be able to be in the house and pull videos from my phone, but the range is stated to be insufficient - though I was able to get near a window along the driveway and it worked. The other problem is that it does require that you put the camera into wifi mode before you can connect, so you have to go to the car to initiate the connection. That's ok. The other thing that I would have appreciated is to have the CPL included rather than making it optional, but hey, you can't have everything, right? The photos show cloudy days and night examples. For privacy reasons I didn't want to show plates, but you can see them when close enough. One shot shows how snow and a windshield wiper appear in a photo. GPS locations have been fuzzed out. So make SURE you get some type of dashcam to protect your interests, as it could pay for itself many times over if you ever needed it. And this one is a good choice with both front and rear collision covered. ... show more

  • Excellent Quality, Easy to use Dashcam
Size: E2
Excellent quality easy to use dashcam The E2 comes packaged in a well designed, high quality box, with all the parts laid out cleanly. Seems like a simple thing, but this is a nice place to start if you’re wondering if you made the right choice on a dashcam. The user manual was well written and easy to understand. It took me about an hour to install the front and rear cameras. It was surprisingly easy to run the cable to the rear camera by keeping it along the headliner on the passenger side. I have a Durango and there was plenty of cable to run to the rear camera. Once powered on, the screen is bright and clear and the menu system is easily laid out. Once wi-fi is enabled you can change most of the settings from your phone which makes it a lot easier, especially if it’s mounted up behind the rear-view mirror. Connected to your phone through the app, you can transfer pictures and videos right to your phone over wifi, which is so much easier than pulling the memory card out and having to bring it inside to a computer. You can pull off just the photos or video you need instantly. When browsing the files the camera sorts them into three folders: Normal (which is the default storage for the video. In the settings you can set the loop duration of 1, 3, or 5 minutes) The camera labels all video and photos with a date and time stamp and an ‘A’ or ‘B’ to show which camera the recording was from. The second folder is Event: this stores all the locked videos. Pressing the button on the camera, or the remote or saying ‘lock video’ will create a video in this folder and prevent it from being overwritten. The last folder is photos, which stores a snapshot from the camera when the button is pressed. After downloading the videos to your phone, press the sync button to add the download to your photo roll. Three things really stand out about this dashcam compared to others that I own: First, the picture quality is excellent for both front and rear cameras, and in both day and night situations. The cameras both use Sony high resolution image sensors and even though the rear is a lot smaller, the picture quality is as good as the front. You can easily read license plates from both cameras. Additionally, picture quality was great out the rear window, even though i have a fairly dark factory tint. There are settings for resolution, bitrate, and automatic exposure control, but the defaults all seemed to work great. Second, the voice control is pretty slick. Rather than have to move the mirror and hold the button to turn on wifi, you can just say ‘Turn Wifi on’ and the camera responds instantly. It was really responsive when using voice commands. (One thing to note: the list of commands is in the system menu on the camera, but puzzlingly not on the phone app) You can lock a picture, turn the screen on and off, select which camera (or both) display on the screen and a few other options with your voice. I was pretty impressed with how quickly the camera responded, there was virtually no lag and a confirmation tone pinged when it heard the command. Third is the little remote that comes with the camera. It’s high quality and has adhesive on the back so you can stick it in a convenient spot on the dash. It can be used to mute the audio recording feature, and also to lock the video if you see something you want saved. It’s a lot easier to press the remote than to reach up to the camera itself (especially if the camera is mounted on the passenger side of the rear view mirror.) It was something I didn’t expect to use, but have found it pretty handy. After installing and driving around I hit a decent pothole and heard the camera indicate that it locked the video, which happened to be a good test of its collision detection without actually hitting anything. My only real nit about the E2 is the power cord (standard USB C) is hard wired into the cigarette lighter power adapter. The adapter does have a USB A port on it, so you can still charge your phone while the dashcam is plugged in, but it would be nice to be able to swap it out for one of my choice with more ports or whatever. (That said, the power throughput is high enough to still fast charge my phone, so that’s a plus.) All in all, the camera has all the features and settings you could ask for without being overwhelming. Both front and rear cameras look and feel very high quality and do an excellent job capturing video in all sorts of conditions. ... show more
