We have plastic everything due to having older kids that tended to break dishes by tossing them into the sink too roughly. We ended up just buying plasticware to avoid anymore broken dishes . I’m just starting to rebuy new ceramic and glass kitchenware , and these are a hit. Pretty bold colors and perfect sized for hot soup or ice cream. Either way they work great with hot or cold food . These bowls are the perfect size for snacks, soup, or a bowl of cereal. I love the bright colors (I have the rainbow set) and the solid feel of the bowl. They remind me of Fiestaware, which is what drew me to these bowls. They're not a copy of Fiestaware, they just have that same fun aura about them. It's great the bowls stack but I wouldn't stack them higher than 3. If I had the space, I'd only stack them 2 high since they don't fully nest in each other. I had no issues washing them in the dishwasher, though they take up a little more space than my older set of round bowls that nested in each other. I love these soup bowls! They are so cute and colorful, making them an instant hit with the kids. I understand that there are ceramics professionals and art specialists who might judge these by a different standard, but I'm judging them by how they perform and how I like them. This is not bone china we're talking about here. These are simple ceramic bowls, medium-weight, microwave and dishwasher safe. For me, they would be a little too small for my morning cereal, but for soups, a serving of pasta, vegetables, desserts and ice cream, they are superb! They have the very slight imperfections that one expects from kiln-fired items. Extremely colorful, they will get the attention of those you serve. I really like these bowls, even though they are smaller than I was envisioning from the measurements. I've had them go through the dishwasher with no issues - a key aspect for me as I don't like to handwash. Having used them several times, they seem durable to last for a while. I think the color is fantastic. The quality is excellent. They have a nice weight to them being ceramic. The ceramic isn't too thin to where you're afraid of breaking them just from looking at them. The color is done very well. My only complaint is the trim. It doesn't look as good in person as in the pictures. They'd definitely be better with just a solid line instead of the tick marks, so took a star off for that. Overall, these are beautiful, durable, and easy to clean so I'm a fan! ... show more

These are pretty with a nice glaze. I appreciate that they are lead free. They are thick enough but not super thick so I think eventually they will get smashed. But for the price, I don't mind them being taken outside to eat. I have a lot of summer guests and wanted these so everyone knows what color their bowl is so they don't get mixed up.
