I used these brackets to build bed rails in our RV. They’re sturdy and consistent with a nice enough finish. The pocket feature (having a bottom side to hold the 2x4) was key for my project and hard to find among other products. The brackets measure 6” wide and 2” tall. The center of the square cutouts for the fasteners are 1/2” in from the outside edge. I used a 5/16 lag bolt and washer but the cutout is made to accept something larger. Great product. 2x4's often don't fit otherwise 5star. I used them to build onto a custom flatbed i made, making detachable fences around edge. I painted them to match. Had to add a washer between bracket and wood as fences were too tight to remove otherwise.

Though a bit more than I really wanted to pay, these did the job perfectly. Just beware that the size of the Stake Pocket may not fit the size of your Stakes. Had to trim down treated 2 x 4 to make them fit :(

    • 2x4 won't fit without trimming.
When I saw these, I was ready to give them 5 stars. But, when I went to install the 2x4's I found that they wouldn't fit without trimming. Every one had to be cut down to fit in the bracket. That takes time, and time is money. I would rather have them oversized than undersized. I wouldn't buy them again. ... show more
