This baby nest is working well for our newborn grandson. Getting his diaper changed while on the couch he remains comfortable and safe while being attended. The cotton is soft, it was easy to assemble. The bumper is firm yet fluffy, it was super easy to slide it into the cover securing it inside with a zipper. The mattress arrived folded and lumpy. I found that a few minutes of steaming with our clothing steamer allowed the deep creases to soften and completely disappear. The mattress itself is somehow firm and supportive yet nicely cushioned without being more than about an inch thick. The only drawback I noted was the seams of the zippers, they could be sewn a bit stronger. The pattern looks richer color wise in person than the product photos. With my first kid we just used blankets and sometimes the nursing pillow when he slept by us on the couch throughout the day. But this, this baby lounger is awesome! It's like a cradle for the couch or bed. The baby won't roll out of it and it's large enough that they have room to wiggle around. The design is great. You can easily unzip the stuffing/pillows to wash the cover. The cover material is like that of a pillow case, soft but nothing fancy. I like how you can tie the end as well. Though the baby lounger came in 3 separate parts and the instructions provided made it easy to put together, I don't believe it's very travel friendly. Once you open the package with the foam border, it stays expanded unless I place the whole baby lounger in a vacuum storage bag. The ties at the end are cumbersome and the white ribbon tie is unnecessary since the rope tie is already holding the top part together. The handle makes it convenient to carry but not really ideal for the baby where is placed. ... show more

Baby in photo is 12.5 pounds and is pretty meh about the lounger. The 2T snuggle bug, however, loves the thing. It's soft enough, light and easy to move around. The docked star is because: 1--I had to put it together. It came shrink wrapped in multiple pieces. 2--There are lumpy places where the 'mattress' was folded. The kids don't seem to mind but it seems like they would be uncomfortable to me. I'm hoping they will fade over time but they're pretty prominent right now. ... show more

It's thick, soft, and fluffy. The cotton sheet can be zipped off for washing and it washes up very nicely.
