Note: This review has a happy ending. Bought this treadmill as a surprise gift for my husband's birthday. It arrived 4 days ahead and I hid it in a closet until his birthday. I was super excited to give it to him and he was thrilled when he received it. He unpacked everything and maneuvered it to his office. Plugged it in, flipped the switch underneath to turn it on, the display lit up, he pressed start from the remote, everything did what it was supposed to do, but the treadmill wouldn't activate. Ok....start over. Still nothing. Grabbed the instruction manual and made sure the magnetic safety latch was closed (or as the manual says, "make sure it's on," which I believe is misleading.) Still...NOTHING. We repeated this process at least 12x, unplugging it, moving the cord to a new outlet, raising the handle bar, locking it, putting it down. Was he too heavy? No. Still no movement. I tried. Was I too heavy? NO (I'm 150lbs). No progress. On 2 occasions while standing on it, an "E02" error flashed briefly, but then went away. We thought, aha! We didn't add lubricant! So we grabbed the bottle, emptied 10mL into the little whole, then unplugged everything, switched it back on, pressed start, beep beep beep.....and again, NOTHING. We tried manually rolling the belt to see if it would start. Nope. After 90 minutes of this plus googling and watching videos (which weren't helpful -- this thing should be just plug and play), not only was I about ready to cry in disappointment (remember, this is a bday gift) but we decided that this treadmill was indee defective. I emailed Urevo.. then decided to call Amazon. They tried to provide "product support" but all they did was read off the trouble-shooting section in the manual. It was decided a replacement needed to be shipped and the only option was that it would take a week to arrive. (*Heavy sigh*) But as it turns out, as I was on chat with Amazon, my husband was lifting the treadmill to start putting it back in the box and he heard a faint "plink" coming from the underside. He turned over the treadmill completely and saw a bottom panel. He removed the panel with the screwdriver as his suspicion was that something might be loose in there. When he lifted the panel, he saw one thin red wire laying unattached to the motherboard. There was only one place where it could be plugged in, so he stuck it on and turned the treadmill back upright. That did it! Treadmill started right up just as it should and problem fixed! He easily replaced the panel on the back, moved the treadmill back to the desk area, and away he went....happy as can be! We suspect this wire just came unplugged during shipping. So the moral of the story is: If this treadmill stops working suddenly or never worked straight out of the box, you might want to check to see if all of the wires are attached by removing the underside panel. Not suggesting you do anything to void the 12 month warranty, of course, but this is the trick that worked for us and it was an easy fix. As for the review, I gave it 4 stars only because it was a hassle for 90 minutes trying to get it to work, plus he's only used it for about an hour this morning so not enough time to give it a long term assessment. It rolls easily but still a bit heavy. Love that the handles fold down for a smaller profile and it is the exact size for a 5'10" dude walking about 3mph. It is low noise (not whisper quiet but not too loud either) and it looks really modern and sleek. He prefers to walk on it with socks or slippers, not shoes. The one downside I see right now is that if you are someone that switches often between treadmill and sitting at your desk, then you're going to need a nearby, convenient spot to store this as you move it back and forth frequently (which might be a bother for some people). It also attracts dog hair quickly! It only lies flat so if you enjoy walking/running on an incline, you're not going to achieve that with this model. I don't know about the "safety magnet" either. If you have the handles raised and trip or fall, I don't think you'll be able to flick this little lever in time to get the belt to stop. But overall, pleased with it so far. This is the first home treadmill we've purchased and it fits under his desk perfectly. I foresee a lot of use outta this thing. PS. BTW, in case you're wondering, yes, I did cancel the replacement from Amazon. ... show more

  • It works, it's pretty flat, it's pretty good

I live in a very hot summer state where it's hard to go out for a walk when every legislating body in the state is warning to not be outside for more than like 10 minutes in the sun and even then bring like a gallon of water and lather on a ton of sunscreen. Thus I decided to finally get a treadmill to remedy my desire to walk/run. I was hoping for one that would ideally fit under my (non standing) computer desk so I can watch movies, youtube, etc without hogging the living room tv from my family. Sure enough, this treadmill does fit quite nicely under the desk and the remote control means I can easily control it without needing the foldable control stand. The speed options are nice and give me plenty of freedom to fine tune my experience as well as the display showing all kinds of (mostly) helpful metrics though the spacing between them can be a little confusing for which numbers go for what metric and the calorie counter is more of a gimmick than anything else since different people burn significantly different amounts of calories than others and that is due to a bunch of different demographic factors, genetics, age, weight, BMI, and even when you last had something to eat and how nutritious that meal or snack was so the counter is very much just something to take with a grain of salt with and if you do intend to use the metric, use it lightly and just assume the actual number is just in the ballpark of whatever is displayed rather than looking at it like "I ate something that was 100 calories and the treadmill says I burned 100 calories thus I have burned off what I ate" because that will almost always be wrong. I do also like that theres no assembly required and maintenance is just occasionally putting some (comes with the treadmill) lubricant into the lubricant hole. And also the fact that it rolls is very nice as it allows me to move it from room to room if maybe the TV in the living room is available or if my family wants to use it. I also like the phone/tablet groove in the control stand, I dont use it often but when I do it is handy, stable, and well... It holds my (both large) phone & tablet. My only complaints (though very minor) is that the power cable it comes with is pretty short (at least in my opinion) and I had to get an extension cable for it and also the remote control (though it has a pause button) doesn't have a stop button which isnt a big deal but rather is just something to note. ... show more

  • Out of the box review, almost perfect.
Color: Black
Some background: I'm 6' 1" and around 250lbs. I am mostly torso so my stride isn't as long as others my size. I primarily bought it for walking while I work from home. I just got it out of the box and started using it. I'm primarily using it without the rail (I'm typing this at my standing desk while walking) and I have to say it's practically perfect. Obviously I'll need some more time to test out the features but if you just want to get some steps in for the day this thing already can't be beat. Everything feels pretty premium save for the remote. I don't think it'll break or anything, it's just the cheapest bit so far. I didn't need to adjust the belt or anything out of the box, and it started right up with very little setup. All I had to do was lay it flat, plug it in, and turn it on. It's not very loud at all, my music has stayed at normal volume and the treadmill is quiet enough that I feel no need to adjust the volume. I'm on the heavier end of the max weight at somewhere around 245-250, and it's not slipping or slowing down at my steps. The walking surface has plenty of room for my medium fast walking. Some final thoughts: I would pay a premium for integration into something like Fitbit. I know I can log it myself but it took monumental mental effort just to get myself onto the treadmill lol. I'm a little nervous to try running. It doesn't feel particularly cheap but at my weight I have concerns. For real, if you just want to get some steps in and need something that won't break the bank, this thing is killing it. ... show more
