  • Nice quality
Size: 5' - Ultra Light - 1pc Pattern Name: Rod
Nice pole. Bought this a paired it with a Piscifun spinner and it's been in rotation ever since. Nice and afford setup. If you're shopping for a kids pole... save your money and dont buy the junk poles gimmicked to children. Get this with a 50 dollar or less 1000 series reel and it will last them into adulthood where it can serve as a crappie pole. Always try to buy something once. ... show more

  • Great
Size: 6'6" - Medium Heavy - 1pc Pattern Name: Rod
My wife wanted a lighter pole for catfishing she is a tiny woman. I own lots of ugly sticks, 12 I think. We catfish and occasionally offshore and pier fish. In general Ugly Stik rods are awesome. This one fit the bill, she has landed a few 30 pounders and set aside a little small for the job it is an awesome rod. We have a Kastking 4000 reel on it, little over kill for the rod but for fish not. We have 50 pound braid on it. About 2 years now really good rod and no issues. The plus is it is light for her, strongest than most and fishes great. ... show more

  • Much more rigid than I thought it would be.
Size: 6'6" - Medium Heavy - 1pc Pattern Name: Rod
Ordered the MH version for river fishing. It’s a much heavier action than other poles I own in that action. I should have gotten M instead. That being said I’ll use it for cut bait as a catfish pole and it will be fine. Packaging wasn’t very good and the tip was sticking out of the box upon arrival. One of the eyelets were bent, I just bent it back into position. ... show more

  • great value for a pretty good rod
Size: 7' - Medium - 2pc Pattern Name: Rod
This is no way a professional rod but for everyday beater and it is TOUGH they are known for durability and accidents to happen and they make a really good product. My wife purchased the gx2 with the foam grips and I love cork so I went with this one and its great. only gripe would be the reel seat and cork had squeaking going onwhen I hooked a fish easy rememdy was some 2 part epoxy and some thread (it was at the bottom of the reel seat and the end cork. fixed the issue very quickly and easily. still I would buy another or another length or size when I feel the need to add to my arsenal of fishing rods. great everyday product! ... show more

  • A step up
Size: 5' - Ultra Light - 1pc Pattern Name: Rod
A little heavier action than a normal Ugly Stick. Comfortable, well balanced. Will be great for those larger trout!

  • Like most freshwater fisherman
Size: 7' - Medium Light - 1pc Pattern Name: Rod
Like most freshwater fisherman , I catch fish that normally weigh between 9 oz. and 20lbs . I don't target a specific type of fish . I like them all . I fish from a kayak and don't like to deal with more than 2 or three rods at most . I like using lighter gear and don't worry about the size fish as I can play them easily in a kayak . I have 2 of the 7' medium light rods and really like them . These rods are very light and very sturdy under load , which they have to be for my flexibility in fishing . The only thing this weight rod does not do well with is 1/4 oz or less lures . It will cast them quite a distance but is more difficult to get the same precision in casting as a lighter rod will give you . Since my rods have to handle larger fish at times , I'm o.k. with that . To add weight for casting ( especially in windy conditions ) I will add a split shot to the line near the jig or lure to give it the extra weight . One more thing . These rods are listed as moderate fast action as opposed to the large mouth anglers preferred fast action . I like the fact that the top half of the rod has some bend to it so I can use the rod's action to keep tension on the line ( especially using braid ) as opposed to having intervals of some slack . It bodes better also for types of fish that have softer mouths where an excited hook set with fast action rods will cause a big hole in the mouth to lose a fish with . ... show more
