The box of UCO beeswax candles I received seems to have been produced by drilling a hole through a solid candle and inserting a wick through the hole. This is a bit of a problem because when you light the candle, the wick will burn down to nothing and extinguish itself. I had to dig the wick out and relight it, resulting in a negligible flame afterwards. Just be aware that this may be an issue before buying these. To prevent this problem with future usages, I melted down some wax to fill in the space between the wicks and the drilled candle holes individually by hand- not something the customer should have to do to remedy a poorly manufactured product. ... show more

We recently spent 48 hours without power after a nor'easter. I set up my mini UCO lantern with the pac flat reflector. It was 30°. The beeswax candle was lit for over 24 hours straight. That was a positive. The negative was that it seemed to be barely lit, and hardly gave off light. It did burn out completely without dripping into the spring. The white wax candles burn brighter but faster, so I guess it depends on what you are looking to use it for. ... show more
