Our plan is to skip the baby walker, and we figured this would make a great alternative. I'm sure, she'll have to wait longer to use it, but that is part of the reason. I am sure these balance bike are very popular, which means you have plenty of options out there. I did find it a little pricey, though uncertain it is because is better than the others. What I do know is that the bike came well package, and protected. It came with all the necessary tools to put it together. Putting it together was easy and straightforward. If you're having problems with the build, try flipping the bolt, nut, etc. over, that might so the trick. As far as quality, the frame is some type of metal, the paint was applied nicely, and the logos are actually painted on. The locking mechanism does make this bike secure. The overall size and height of the bike is small, and it is not adjustable, so I'm sure your little will outgrown it fast. The seat seems comfortable, the wheels are not clear but are made of a hard foam. Should make it for a comfortable ride, and should prevent scratching your flooring. The light is a nice touch, should make it easy for your little one to be seen. This is definitely a very elegant looking bike. Aesthetically speaking, it is probably the best one out there. I got the best uncle award at my nephews 1 yr bday party. Seriously though this bike is pretty cool. Being the good brother I am, I assembled it for my exhausted siblings beforehand. I have to say it went together really well and was surprisingly nice quality. The metal frame and hard plastic wheels had no sharp edges I could find. Once assembled, the hardware is hidden well and it all seems sturdy enough for much bigger kids than 12 months. My only minor complaint is the battery compartment on the LED headlight is a bit of a pain. It's actually a bit jarring because the rest of the bike feels like premium material, then the little plastic light fixture feels like nothing of the sort. It's forgivable because the light is mostly ensconced within the frame when installed, but you'll need to handle it to deal with the battery from time to time. I'm sure they have a sizeable markup at this MSRP, so keep an eye out for sales if you can. ... show more

It was fairly easy to put together and once it was the fight was on with the toddlers wanting their turn. This balance bike is actually 4 wheeled- which helps its stability and little ones get used to the feel of riding a bike. Being made for 12+ month old children, this is easy to see why. It is sturdy and made of both metal and plastic components (wheels are plastic, frame is metal). Assembly is required, but comes together quite easily with the included hardware. The wheels roll easily, the frame is solid, and the bike is easily transportable in the back of a car, trunk, cargo area of van/suv, etc. It is small enough to really store anywhere and the smooth, non-marking wheels are also good for indoor play too. i really like the colors on this bike, its really lightweight, everything was packed super well in the box and wrapped snug in there insuring nothing got damaged in transit. was really easy for me to put together myself as well only took me a few minutes wasn't hard at all. my 18-month-old really loves it, she's a little on the taller side but it is a great height for her. she really likes riding it around the house, she's just beginning to learn how to scoot with it then once she's going to lift her legs back to let it go on its own for a few feet. will be a great thing to take on our walks as well in the park and such in the next few months when the weather is nice, will just need a little helmet for her and were good to go! ... show more
