Tree root growing box can be put in place by one person but it is a project best done with a helper. (Particularly if applying to an indoor plant. Dirt spill unavoidable) If you wear bi-focals make sure your helper has good eye sight and YOU become the holder/helper. Threading the zip ties is a Pain. My BIGGEST disappointment is the small opening for the 'trunk'. Using the word 'trunk' implies girth. I re-read the ad and the least advertised dimension, the least clearly defined dimension is the diameter of the hole when compressed into play. If I had seen the maximum 'trunk' diameter was less than a 1/2" I wouldn't have bought them. I would not recommend these to a friend. ... show more

As an avid gardener, my wife loves to experiment with new gardening things. She bought these rooting balls to see if the method really works. Well, after 7 weeks, this is the result. She’s so happy to know that we will be able to root things from our parents yards. One thing to remember is that this method is individualized and needs to be done at the the peak of the plant’s rooting period. Was not sure if these would be high quality, but they are. And they are easy to use. I used regular potting soil in them after wetting it down. They clip together easily and then you use a zip tie to secure them together. Fast and easy.

I haven’t had a chance to use these yet, but I can see how they would work on certain plants, and I’m excited to give them a try! I had to split the package 3 ways because I made the mistake of excitedly telling 2 friends about the concept. :)
