These magnetic tool holders worked well for me. They replaced some that I had for years, that didn't have nearly the same holding power as these do. I use them to hold drill bits, saw blades and some larger items. For those reviewers that said they don't hold heavier tools, they weren't supposed to. You can't put a hammer or a pipe wrench on these and expect it to hold. It's a magnet... a pretty strong magnet, but not effective for large tools. I have a lot of my drill bits on these and it takes a little pull to get the bit off the magnet... and that's a good thing. On my old magnetic holder, if I brushed against the bits, two or three or more would fall off. I'd be searching for them in the pile of stuff on my workbench. These magnets hold. I also used them in my basement where I keep my sets of keys for doors and my cars. They hold easily and don't fall off. I bought four of these. I probably will buy four more. Don't take the plastic covering off the magnetic. The magnets are strong enough to hold whatever you put on, providing you're not trying to hold a drill or pipe wrench. These are five star holders, if used in the way they were meant for. I bought these... I didn't receive them for free in order to write a positive review. I love these Magnetic Strips. I did not give these a full 5 stars due to the fact the magnetic piece is in between plastic which has ridges. these ridges makes it a little difficult to catch the entire tool. (Tool slips) Otherwise, love it. and would buy it again.

    • Works as they should. Used in fishing bolt to hold up tools.
These magnets were exactly what I was expecting. They seem to be good quality and pretty strong. I used them in my fishing boat to hold pliers, knifes, hook extractor and other tools. The only complaint that I have is that the green decals clash with my red boat lol.

These work great in my newly organized workbench area to hold tools ie: wrenches, screwdrivers, metal cased tape measures, etc. These are heavy duty and hold some pretty hefty stuff. They are super easy to install and are a good value for the money.

    • Not very strong
First thing that I did after receiving my package of four Swanlake magnetic tool bars is stick a normal USA Craftsman screwdriver on it. It rolled right off it. I then stuck the screwdriver on my older Harbor Freight magnetic bar, and it stayed on it without rolling. The Swanlake magnetic bar is weak as compared to the Harbor Freight bar. The Swanlake bar has the magnets recessed into the bar, maybe that is why it is so weak. Or maybe the Swanlake bar just has poor quality made magnets. Either way, I would not recommend these. My wife said that she could use them for her sewing needles, so I won’t return them. Hopefully it is strong enough for tiny needles. ... show more

    • Works pretty well depending on the tool
Installing is just 4 screws. It has some trouble with screwdrivers — many slip because the handle weight outweighs the magnetic pull on the shaft. Things with a lot of magnetic strength - like pliers - clamp on tight. Nothing falls off when left alone but it you bump a screwdriver, it’s going down.
