This is a nice set of stoneware dinner plates. They are not smallish like some others, but a little over 10" and hold quite a lot of food. The high lip prevents food from slopping over onto the table. You can microwave these and the food stays hotter longer due to the plates being stoneware. They are plain matte black plates so don't expect any fancy designs but the food looks amazing when you arrange them on these plates. They are microwave and dishwasher safe as well. I really liked the look of these plates. I was pleasantly surprised when I received them. They are a gorgeous black matte and are really well made. They have a good weight to them and the raised edging around the plate is perfect to keep food from spilling over. I do suggest handling them with care. I noticed after the first time using them, they have some scratch marks. Not enough to make me love them any less but I did want to mention that. I love these plates! ... show more

Per the title, there really isn't that much to add to that. These are just great. I have enjoyed every single meal on these and have received compliments from my guests. To me, something that I really love about these plates are the lipped (raised) edges. Just takes any and all the frustration away from trying to get that last peace of deliciousness from the plate and into your mouth. These are just class, class that comes with all of the modern convince we expect such as dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and even carelessness-safe given the raised edges. Highly recommended and I am looking forward to extending my collection so that I can have a good ten plate set with other side-dishes. ... show more

After just a handful of uses, this product is already significantly scratched. I don’t have sharp knives either. I have plenty of other plates that either don’t scratch this bad or don’t show it as much. For almost $10 a plate, this is ridiculous. Would not buy again.
