  • Actually works
Style: Standard
The picture showed the couch railing under the first cushion but by placing it under the middle cushion makes it able to use any of the cushions. It is stable and works amazingly well.

  • What a great product
Style: Standard
I have severe arthritis and was having a hard time getting up from the couch. We live in an A-frame, so we don't have enough room to put in a lift chair. I am so glad that I found this product. It has really helped me to be able to push myself up with my arms and not depend so much on my knees and legs. It was quick and easy to put together and install. The best part is that it is so flexible. I run a home business and I use a Desk Mate tray to put my computer at just the right place. This product can be adjusted perfectly so I can use both. Thanks for designing such a great product! ... show more

  • It’s just physics— won’t solve all problems.
Style: Standard
My mom suddenly lost the ability to lift herself up from a low chair. She’s 91. We got this for her and it solves the problem on some days, on others it doesn’t. An additional cushion helps.

  • Didn't work for us
Style: Bariatric
I bought this for my elderly mom who is having trouble getting up from the couch. She hated it. She could not push herself up using this device and was afraid that the legs in the front could be a tripping hazard. I sent it back and bought some 3" risers to lift up the whole couch and she is very happy with that. ... show more

  • Great for knee surgery patients
Style: Standard
My 80 y/o mother just had knee surgery and was having a terrible time getting into and out of her couch. I bought her this lift assist device and it has been phenomenal! She said it was the best thing she's had after her surgery. This is especially great for people who have sofas that are a little softer and it's harder to get leverage to get up or down. Very sturdy, safe, super easy to put together. Adjustable. No complaints here. This should be a must-get for anyone getting knee/hip surgery or anyone in general having a tough time getting on and off their couch. ... show more

  • Mom can get out of her chair!
Style: Standard
My 94 year old mother's favorite chair, which belonged to her mother, is a cushy platform rocker which is very low slung. Mom's knees started giving her more trouble to the point that standing up from her chair without assistance was impossible. Her physical therapist prescribed a new, much higher chair which I drove myself nuts looking for and mom didn't want to give up her chair anyway. So my search took the direction of how can we rig this chair up to work for her. This support, coupled with a 3" thick wheelchair cushion (also from Amazon), made it possible to keep her chair and be able to get herself up. And she can still rock. It's not pretty but it works. Assembly is easy and only takes a few minutes ... show more

  • So very helpful!
Style: Bariatric
This product has been a life saver! My husband had ballooned up to 360 lbs and was unable to get up and down without help. I ordered this 2 days before he was hospitalized for 5 days. My son in law helped me get a bed moved into the living room and put this product together for me but I could have easily done that part myself. To say my husband was weak when he came home would be an understatement! He lost 22 pounds of fluid in 5 days but still was needing to be pulled up while in the hospital. At home with this device he was able to use his arms and legs to raise up and sit down. It saved my body as well as his. He is down another 12 pounds of fluid and continues to improve and uses this device multiple times daily! It is very sturdy and has no trouble with his weight. My only complaint is that the pegs that slide through both bars to hold the hand grips on fall out often. I feel there may need to be a pin and clip there in stead of the way it slides in. But even that flaw doesn’t change my opinion of this product. For both of us, him the person using it and me the caregiver that is no longer the pulling post, it has been excellent! ... show more
