Once I opened the box it was very easy to assemble . I am 76 yrs old , put it together. My first time using it was scary because I was worried about not assembling it correctly.     • BEWARE -- the automatic line advance feature doesn't exist...at least not on the model I got

Unlike most line trimmers, this model doesn't have a "bump & feed" feature that lets out a little more of the cutting line while your trimming. Inevitably, the end of the line always getting cut off by hitting whatever your trimming like fence posts, sides of your house, gutter spouts, etc. or the sidewalk (while edging). So there has to be a way to let out a little more line frequently. This trimmer is suppose to have an Automatic Line Feed feature, eliminating the need to keep bumping the bottom of the trimmer on the ground to let out more line. Which would be great -- if it worked or even existed. It did not on the unit I got. Sent it back after one use. Because I was literally having to stop every 10 seconds or less to flip the unit upside down and manually let out a little more line. Even THAT was tedious to do...the positioning of a little button on the side of the spool makes it necessary to use two hands -- one to push that little button and the other grasping the end of the line to pull it out...and you have to push that button repeatedly each time...it only lets out less than 1" more line per click. ... show more

The weed eater works great. I used in my backyard for about 25 minutes non-stop. Had plenty of battery left. Charger works well. The battery goes in firmly and you don’t have to worry about it falling out of the weed eater or charger. The only downside is that it is a single string, not dual. Product was easy to assemble, just 3 parts that had to be placed. Completed in about 5 minutes. And no I didn't read the instructions, as intuitive assembly is always my benchmark for a good product design. Second, I took it out and immediately started trimming my lawn (my gas powered trimmer died for a 3rd time, which is why I went electric) and I was really impressed with the RPM's/Torque of this compact electric trimmer. I've got caterpillar grass (poor man's St. Augustine) and it's as tough as nails, but this trimmer cut through it no sweat. I have to admit, I had low expectations, because typically electric lawn and garden tools are just underpowered compared to gas powered devices, but this trimmer is legit! While I wouldn't want to trim the South Forty with it on a 2Ah battery, for my small yard, it will work great. This bundle came with two batteries, charger, and 8 spools of nylon line. I consider that a solid value for $79. I had already purchased the Soyus leaf blower, and was real pleased with the performance there as well. And it also came with two 2Ah batteries. So now I've got both tools, four batteries, two chargers, and everything I need to maintain the yard. Let's see how they hold up over time.....very pleased so far. Soyus claims they've been designing/mfg. garden tools for over 30 years, and I have to say it shows in their products. I'm impressed. And I'm a tool snob, so it takes a lot to impress me..... ... show more

I bought this because I only have a very small area that needs to be cut (I live in a condo), and while it does the job, it's a total piece of trash and would not hold up to a yard of normal size. It constantly separates in the middle causing me to hold awkwardly, and the battery only lasts for about 20 min. If I still had a full-size yard this would NEVER be acceptable. For an extra $20 you can get a Black and Decker that is quality, this is a cheap Chinese trimmer that is poor quality. ... show more
