I got it in order to teach some self-defense classes that require tumbling, but my toddler also LOVES playing on this. This mat has excellent bounce. The cover is suitable for private use and kindergarten. For heavy weight strong adults training Judo I would recommend a tougher cover material. But this is why this mat is so affordable. As said: sturdy enough for use by kids. We have the mat inside and also outside on grass. When we first opened the box there was a strong chemical scent. However, that is normal and I remember when I went to school and we had gotten new mats, they were smelly for a while. The smell of this mat was gone after about two days of airing out. For future purchases I would take it out of the box in the garage, unfold it and let it sit there for two days and then take it inside. The box says Balancefrom, and this is also printed on the mat. purchased for my 6 month old- I have all hardwood floors and wanted him to have a safe space to work on motor skills. The cushion is the perfect amount. it is super lightweight and foldable. I wish it had a way to hold it closed like handle straps, but otherwise great value.
