Spooled it with KK Super Power braid with a KK FluoroKote topshot. Have mounted it on a few Swimbait Rods After adjusting the spool tension was able to huk a 4oz weight an insane distance over and over. Have Yet to birdnest it. Makes a pretty crazy wine when matched with a Dobyns 795 and launching it a hard as i can. Plan on use it in salt and brackish water. Not a ton of drag, but feels smooth. 30lb striper?? Probably better suited for freshwater. But having fun with it. Have some nice low pro baitcasters., This is my Favorite at the moment. ... show more

Plain and simple, this reel is a seriously worth the money. Now if you a 5 time fishing champion or fish all day, everyday since you were 3 year old than you MIGHT just have to say something negative to say but if your the other 95% of the world than this reel is worth it.

When ordering this item, I made the mistake and clicked “right” which I thought was for right handed fishermen but it isn’t for right handed , it meant right retrieve so it was for left handed fisherman. Best real I’ve used so far.

Casts crazy far with little effort farther even than my diawa TWS smooth as butter casting as well as the drag honestly believe its the best quality you can get there is no slop or play in anything shimano really knows what they are doing! The digital breaks work flawlessly after adjusting the spool tension very important btw but i highly recomend giving it a try dont let the digital breaking scare you works just as good as they say ... show more
