Last weekend, I replaced the stock stereo (with a 10.1" touch screen) and stock speakers (with 4-way Sony 4x6" and 3-way Pioneer 6.5") in my '98 Chevy S10. I did NOT hook up this subwoofer at the time (was too tired then), so I drove around for a week with music devoid of bass. It sounded good (better than stock), but there just was no bass. This weekend, I tackled this subwoofer installation. I used the included hook part of the hook-and-loop pieces (what most generically call Velcro), along with a few other large pieces I had on-hand to secure it to the back wall between the seats (behind the center console). The bottom half of that wall is carpeted, so the hooks grabbed nicely and secured it well. I then ran all the cabling (the hardest part was getting the positive cable through the firewall to the fuse box input). People whine about the positive and negative cables in these reviews, but they're fine (I'm not having any issues, and I like that the insulation is so thick since you don't want that getting rubbed through and contacting the chassis, though I still placed mine within flex tubing). I was so excited when I cranked my truck and (after powering on the unit) heard that bass; it was incredible! Deep bass filled the entire cab! The lighting is a really cool touch, too! I am very satisfied. It's neat to see that speaker moving in an out behind that large spider... just looks nice. The box is solid; very well-built. Connections are tight. I've a radio with one RCA output each for connecting up to 2 subwoofers. I used a Y-splitter off of the radio's SW1 output to connect to the RCA L and R inputs of the subwoofer after doing some research on-line and learning how that worked. Also, I didn't need to make any adjustments to the 3 recessed potentiometers on the subwoofer; their default settings seem fine to me. Oh, and don't forget to ensure the subwoofer is on when you test it! While installing it, I must have turned mine off, but I thought it was on since the blue lighting ring was on... but there was no bass... then I realized the switch was off. As soon as I pushed it, I was amazed at the enhanced sound of my system! Also, if you connect the blue wire properly to the remote on the subwoofer, the unit will power off when your radio powers off, so there's no need to continually manually power it on and off. Highly recommended unit! In fact, a friend of mine liked my new system so much after hearing it yesterday, he's ordering the same components now to replace his stock system in his vehicle. ... show more

For as compact as it is, it hits hard. Will fit perfectly under your seat and will add some decent bass to your ride. The only issue i have with the product is the performance on the really low notes. They're almost unheard while driving. Overall, i would recommend this to anyone wanting to add some bass to their truck, especially anyone with a single cab! It was extremely easy to hook up. I didn’t know what to expect when I purchased this. The install was fairly easy the quality and durability was second to none and it sounds great. I would definitely recommend this product if you were looking for decent sound for a decent price. I would recommend buying different connecters for the power wire and the ground wire. This is a bargain for sure but buy a whole new pwer kit for it. The one that came with it is worthless. Cheap AV cables (like very cheap) power wire can't fully support the wattage neither can the ground. You can get a solid power kit at auto zone for $35. With the good power kit it has excellent sound quality and hits pretty hard for a super slim 10" sub. ... show more

YES, this looks like an affordable option, which it is. I saw a ton of good reviews so I jumped on this while on sale…”can’t be that bad if everyone says it’s great, right?” I thought so too. Product arrived in slightly dented box (Trust me I get it, I work in the freight industry so things happen) Product appears fine, I switched out everything from my old unit) Instal was easy (I already knew what to do). Didn’t work. “Okay I messed up somewhere”, so I ran a test with the old unit I had (also cheap but did the job) used new units wiring to ensure all wiring was still good. Old unit worked…. No worries, I understand things like this happen. I reach out to company asking for replacement. No response ever. Then I reach out to Amazon. They send me return label and everything. Took to shipper and done. Still have yet to receive an email from shipper or Amazon….. I’m guessing there was some type of replacement conversion happening and nothing was relayed.. IDK, nor do I care… Save your money and get a Kicker or Rockville powered sub. Yes more expensive but worth the money and customer service. ... show more

This is a very capable amplified subwoofer, but there are things that you need to know. First, the kit is worth the extra money for the highest quality RCA cable alone. That being said, the power cables that come with it are pretty much useless for this as they are WAY too small. Pictured is a 8AWG marine cable on the right and the supplied on the left. Too small of a cable will cause poor sound reproduction, clipping and/or damage to the unit. They aren’t saving money here as this could cause returns. The set screws for the power cables should be hex socket not Philips but it was easy enough to tighten. There are two foam pads that should be placed between the back and the mounting surface to prevent any vibration because the mounting brackets do hold the unit really close. Best to only stick one side of the pad incase you ever need to move the unit. All adjustments worked as expected. Do remember to reduce the bass from all other speakers and let the subwoofer do its thing. The music volume could be raised to the point of pain and bass keeping up perfectly. Testing with the track “Sail” and it nailed it. Very impressive performance for the money. ... show more

I really don't do reviews but this lasted for 1 week then stopped working I ordered a replacement and the 2nd 1 did the same thing. They were both awesome for 1week had to send it back and get refund no 3 strikes for me hopefully somebody will have better luck with this brand than me.
