  • Great TV!
Style: TV Only Size: 65 in
My old TV bit the dust, and I thought I had been preparing for this eventuality by buying one of the big box stores gift cards and accumulating them. When I was finally forced into buying a new TV, I started learning more about higher Def functions and what they all meant. The picture quality on this set is incredible. It is amazing to revisit some computer generated scenes from yesteryear (Star Trek:TNG) and the animation of alien cities is just that: animation. The blow up of cities and people walking appear as hollow stick figures and almost disappointing. Details that have been invisible are now apparent. I read where the black contrast of some tvs will make these tvs appear even more sharp and brilliant, but only when viewed in a light subdued room. The quality of this Q TV allows great viewing both in daylight and night time. Another feature that influenced my decision of this set is with the continuity while gaming. The set does come with leg stands so it can sit on top of an entertainment center. I, however, purchased an additional wall mount so the TV is off any furniture and can't be knocked over by any pets (cats). Installation for this is not difficult, but it is a two person job. I was pleasantly pleased with the smart functions available. You have the ability to choose from various subscription based programs (Amazon Prime, Netflix, and others) as well as various internet based services, such as YouTube. It is possible to listen to various radio stations on the TV if they are broadcast on the net. A person could possibly shop online with this set. I haven't tried that, but I don't see any reason why it would be a problem. My only complaint would be in the design in the remote control. It's very sensitive and you will lose what you are watching if it is dropped on the floor, or if that cats walk on them. Also, it's almost too simplistic to function with the cable service. It's much easier to use their remote in changing the channel or watching shows off the DVR than trying to figure out how to get the TV remote working. One final note that I was pleased about was delivery. Amazon treated this as the i.portant item that it was, and required a signature by someone present upon delivery. It's just as well; who wants to leave a 72" long parcel out by their front door? Again, I'm very pleased with this, and the quality and sharpness still amaze me at times. ... show more

  • Extremely happy!
Style: TV Only Size: 65 in
Extremely happy with my new SAMSUNG 65-inch Class QLED Q60T Series - 4K UHD Dual LED Quantum HDR Smart TV! The price was right, and the shipping arrival time was a day early. The Seller; Walt's TV did an excellent job of packing the TV, using the factory box and then packing it inside a very heavy duty box. I could see various shipping scars on the outer box, but when opened the original packaging had not a mark on it. Good job Walt's TV! Now for a little review on the reviewers of the SAMSUNG 65-inch Class QLED Q60T Series - 4K UHD Dual LED Quantum HDR Smart TV. I almost didn't get the SAMSUNG 65-inch Class QLED Q60T Series - 4K UHD Dual LED Quantum HDR Smart TV because of all the negative reviews, but I l was so happy with my previous Samsung I decided to go with my experience rather than the reviews. Glad I did. After rereading the reviews I realized that most of the negative reviews were either from (1) people who couldn't or wouldn't read the operating instructions, (2) have no common sense, (3) think they are some kinda TV techs. and like spouting out all kind of techy terms that they feel makes them sound intelligent but in all reality...... My new SAMSUNG 65-inch Class QLED Q60T Series - 4K UHD Dual LED Quantum HDR Smart TV set up fast and easy with no problems. Mounting the TV to my existing wall mount, hooking up all my various components and reading the instructions took me no more than a couple hours at most. The overall picture and color are excellent and only took a couple minutes to hone in (after reading the instructions). So glad I didn't go by the reviews on this buy!! Love my SAMSUNG 65-inch Class QLED Q60T Series - 4K UHD Dual LED Quantum HDR Smart TV!! ... show more

  • Good picture quality, some questionable design decisions
Style: TV Only Size: 43 in
We bought this to replace a 4 year-old Samsung TV whose picture was beginning to have problems. I don't know if this is typical of flat-screen TV lifetimes, but the Sony Trinitron that "old" Samsung replaced was more than a decade old and still had an excellent picture. TL;DR: This is a very nice 43 inch television at a good [discounted] price, with some caveats that may or may not apply to most buyers. PROS: Excellent picture quality. Manual functions: finally, a flat TV one can turn on/off, change volume and channels when you can't find your remote control. The controls are hidden and not easy to access, but at least they exist. Set up was quite easy. SURPRISE: This model has an "ambient mode" which we had thought was limited to those ultra-expensive wall-mounted Samsungs. It allows you to set the normally blank screen to any of a number of supplied images or your own photos. I have no idea what this will do to your electric bill if you use it, but once in a while it may be a nice treat. CONS: The ARC is assigned to HDMI-2. This is a problem for those of us with old DVRs that recognize only HDMI-1 and HDMI-2. The TV does have an optical input that you can use for, for example, a Sonos Beam. Why Samsung decided to make HDMI-2 rather than HDMI-3 the ARC option is beyond me, and I sincerely hope they change this in future models. The distance between the feet is 32.6". We hoped it would fit on our stand which is 32.5" wide. What's 1/10 inch, right? Wrong. We forgot that these feet are very, very, very narrow. So, as we had to do with the 32" inch model we bought earlier this year, we created extensions with heavy duty cardboard and have taped both the feet and the cardboard down to within an inch of their lives. We are hoping that between that and the earthquake straps, we have sufficiently secured the TV. Samsung informed us that the switch from a central base to these widely spaced feet was to allow people to put their external sound bars underneath the TV. (See Hints.) At the very least, they should have made the feet wider or made 3-point feet rather than 2-point feet. The Samsung Hub now has extremely tiny icons, presumably to fit more on the screen. They are very irritating. Our Xfinity icon is black. We can't, apparently, move it to the first position on the left. So every time we turn the TV on, the pointer is on the Free TV icon and we inevitably overshoot the Xfinity icon when we move right. I honestly can see no reason at all for 1) the smaller icons or 2) the inability to focus the Hub on Xfinity, which is our primary channel. HINTS: When we first set up the TV, we couldn't change cable channels with the remote. What happened? We had positioned our Sonos Beam in front of the TV. Wrong move. Samsung's IR ( and its manual controls) are centrally located on the bottom of the TV. The Beam interrupted that signal. So we moved the Beam underneath the TV. After setting up the Beam with the Optical connector, we were unable to change the volume with the Samsung remote control. Solution (thank you Sonos help staff): scroll way, way, way over to the far right of Sources until you get to "Universal Remote". Select it and choose the Home Theater Option. Tell it the model number (for the Beam, it is BEAM1US1BLK). Then Samsung will prompt you with a power test. This will not work with the Beam. However, that didn't matter. We exited the set up function and our Samsung remote can now control the Optical volume. We've had the TV up and running for only a week and will update this post if we discover anything else we think might be useful. ... show more
