  • Best quality monitor

Excellent monitor for ps5

  • The problem is not the display itself
Size: 28-inch Style: G70A Set: Monitor
All the issues talked about concerning blackscreening, random shutdowns, and poor quality, are from using the DP cable provided in the box, I had all of those problems, including artifacting with random lines on the screen. I had bought an HDMI 2.1 cable in preparation for the monitor, believing it would not come with a cable, however it did so I used that one first, it worked at first but was very finicky and had those problems I talked about. So I changed to the HDMI 2.1 cable and it works flawlessly with no problems whatsoever now. For the actual monitor review, the colors do indeed pop, you will have to change the settings yourself however as the standard config is disgusting. Once you get it right though, and Samsung provides a vast amount of options to change your picture to do so, you will love this monitor. The HDR isn't really HDR so I didn't use it. The gaming aspect is great, it is better than most budget high refresh rate monitors in terms of input lag and pixel response times. I did better at overwatch through this monitor despite getting only a resolution boost (I was on 1440p + 144hz before). this is likely because of the vastly superior pixel response times and input lag compared to my cheaper gaming monitors (AOC 34 inch ultrawide), overwatch is very fast paced and fighting can sometimes look like a cartoon brawl pit where all you can see is dust, but with this monitor the pixel response times really help to reduce the amount of motion blur and smearing, meaning it is easier to make sense of what your seeing. For viewing pleasure, it is great, I am coming from a Samsung 4k 32 inch display, I believe the UJ59 or something among those lines. This display is smaller but better. The old display was a VA panel, which is usually well known for their contrast and darkness. This IPS however is actually superior in contrast and dark levels in my opinion. Of course If I had an OLED right next to me I'd probably say otherwise, but compared to my AOC, the AOC looks like a cheap washed out monitor, so much so that my G70A looks OLED by comparison. HDMI 2.1 also supports 4k playback on Netflix for PC, an unexpected but welcome upgrade. ... show more

  • Worst monitor purchase I've made in 40 years of buying monitors
Size: 32-inch Style: G70B Set: Monitor w/ Smart Gaming Hub
OMG Samsung, what did you do? First off, DO NOT BUY this monitor. It's NOT a monitor. It's a TV with some Monitor features tossed in at the end. But no TV tuner. At every possibly opportunity, this thing pops up a Game Bar that takes 25% of the screen. To interact with any of the monitor menus, can you use the easy remote? Oh HELL no. You have to use the invisible microscopic buttons on the bottom of the frame. Good luck. But the screen - oh the screen.... My 3 year old 32" 4K HP monitor DESTROYS this Samsung in picture quality. The BEST I can get the Samsung no matter what picture mode or settings I adjust is for piss-colored whites and charcoal gray backs. The contrast is at the not quite as good as an old 1280x1024 IBM monitor from 1999. Black text on white is hard to read forcing me to use my HP as my primary work screen. So the picture sucks, what else is wrong with it? It's a technological dinosaur - No USB-C or Thunderbolt, no no, this modern beast has USB 3.0!! with two - yes TWO USB-A Hub ports! You get a net +1 port!!!!! WOW Samsung! Really on the ball here! Oh yeah, my 3 year old HP has at least USB-C 3.2, with 2 additional USB-C ports and 4 more USB-A ports. Can pretty much use it as a "light" docking station. Oh but this monitor has speakers built in - to reduce desktop clutter. Uh huh, it does have speakers all right. But you will not want to use them for anything. The quality of sound direct from a Dell Laptop is far FAR superior to the Samsung. Only problem is that Windows Autoconfig (there is no fix) will change your default audio device every time the audio device changes. Which is every time the monitor returns from Sleep. Oh, and it sees it as a NEW device, so even if you disabled it in Device Manager and Sound Settings, it comes right back! And defaults the the GARBAGE Samsung monitor speakers. And the clincher that is causing me to send the pile of crap back, when it goes to sleep, it keeps waking itself up with the Game Bar telling me it's going to sleep again.... BUT when my system resumes from Display Sleep, the monitor re-connects as 1080P!!!!!!! Only way to get it back to 4K is to physically disconnect the Display port cable and re-connect, which causes Windows to lose the Display configuration, change the default monitor, etc. etc. So First, I don't understand the positive reviews - they must all be schills for Samsung (not out of the realm of possibility for a company that size.) Nobody that actually uses this monitor would honestly give it a positive review. Why did I buy this monitor? It was one of the few 32" 4K monitors that supports nVidia GSync rather than just the AMD Freesync, and availability of alternatives was limited. I took a chance on Samsung. What a mistake. It's getting returned. ... show more

  • Update before using
Size: 28-inch Style: G70A Set: Monitor
I saw negative reviews about this monitor and quite frankly I think most of them are nitpicky they have to be extremely bored or have too much time on their hands because I see excellent quality all around. I have a MSI GEFORCE RTX 3080 I have another 4k monitor by ACER but it's made for AMD will work with Nvidia but I wanted a monitor that could open up for Nvidia so I got the G7. It's so simple to put together a 5 year old can do it, before you start get a flash drive and download the updated drivers because if not you won't be able to manually change response times and so on you must use the flash drive directly to the monitor it won't work any other way. With gaming be prepared because you will be adjusting to the speed even though you won't see that 1ms response time they claim I have seen low like 2.5 and mind you we're talking milliseconds that's faster than a second it also takes 1000ms to make a 1 second cycle, that's not with all because certain gamed aren't optimized for high end graphics. The picture and screen quality is really good I watch a lot of Sci-Fi I watched Dr Strange Multiverse Madness prior to getting the G7 and it was a different experience with the G7 much more detail. FAIR WARNING !!! this monitor gets hot so does the power pack the powers the G7 as I'm typing this 3:49 AM EST it's 78F outside and it's 87F in my room that's not the monitor by itself so if you have a high-powered computer system this monitor will add on to the heat. ... show more
