I had two of the smaller factory batteries, one 1.8aH for my cordless leaf blower and one 2.0aH for my string trimmer, and both batteries were very tired. I had to plan the lawn mowing days because each battery would only run about two minutes. Just to do the front yard had to be a planned and orchestrated sequence, with frequent recharging sessions. With this 4.0aH battery I can edge the entire lawn AND blow off the concrete and walkways front & back on a single charge. ... show more

    • Works great and it looks like it was never used.
I'm not exactly the sure of the story on these batteries but they aren't sold in Ryobi packaging. But this battery looks and works like a new 4AH battery at about 1/2 the price. I have a 3rd party Ryobi battery that was about the same price. This battery has MUCH more power (the other battery bogs down with my hedge trimmer) and looks brand new. ... show more

Battery yard maintenance tools are my favorite garden helps. No smell, less noise, but shorter time on task. Having extra, charged batteries are the answer. These work well.

    • This battery size is needed for heavy jobs
I really like my Ryobi tools, but the batteries are inconsistent. I had one that lasted only a year before it would not charge, then the replacement I ordered didn't charge at all! Many of the tools require a full charge to work properly, so the heavier battery is a must!
