Next day delivery was nice, I was expecting a cheap piece of crap that would shatter under pressure and leave me with chuncks of cheap Chinese steel inbeded in my skull. But nope, it worked! Lower control arm was just refuseing to come out. I had hammered on it, used penetrating oil... everything. Got this separator delivered next day shipping and yes, it still took about an hour to get it out, but the separator did great and didn't Crack, warp, explode or give me any reason for concern. Two bits of advice. 1 make sure it's seated correctly, it's got a little cup to cradle your balls... uh, ball joints, and apply some oil to the threads before using. No need to be fighting friction when applying that much pressure. ... show more

    • Barely fit my 2006 Civic LX, but did the job!!
I had to really push it in, to get on top of where the castle nut/stud is, but I was able to get both of my ball joints out. This was trying to remove aftermarket ball joints, not sure if that makes a difference or not, in terms of fitment. 2006 Civic LX

    • Very good tool
I bought one similar set of ball joints removal tools last summer but couldn’t get them to work and had to return them. Saw this tool at half the cost of the other set so I took a chance. The tool works great for me. Yeah, I have to hit it with the hammer to get it under the ball before I can crank the nut to separate the joint. It withstood all the force from the hammer and still holds up well. The only thing that I don’t like is the way they design the nut, it really hard to keep the socket in place when you try to turn the screw using the wrench. You would need to have deep impact socket to use with it. Anyway, the tool definitely is a good tool for the DIY people like me to use without having to break the bank on the tool. ... show more

    • It does what it's Intended to do.
It separated the ball joints on my subaru, and for the price it wasn't bad. Shipping was pretty quick like most Amazon items. I'll keep it in my tool box for more use. Just a little bulky but other than that no complaints.

Easy to use, I used this to separate a tie rod and it did what it says, easy to use and did not tear the tie rod boot, I wish I had bought this years ago!
