Makes great distortion on my Jackson Rhoads. Great tones for Thrash, Death and Black metal. Everything on the pedal works as it should. It does not come with a dc power supply. You will need to order one or pick one up at your local music store like I did. It needs to be 9 volts AND negative center post and positive outside. That is very important. I don't know why pedal makers reverse the polarity as every dc power supply I've ever seen is positive center, negative outer. Probably just to force everyone to pay extra. ... show more

This pedal broke on the first test. I connected the unit to my audio interface to see if the 4k slider was a band or shelf filter. I am pleased to report that it is a high shelf filter which is what I had hoped it would be. Unfortunately, that band broke during the test. It failed permanently negative, though it would still boost when sliding above unity. From unity to negative there was no change after the first use. The other controls all worked well. The Volume knob is only a trim. It does not boost the output. I can confirm that all frequency bands were accurate to their marked values. The test was done by routing pink noise out of REAPER and analyzing the return signal while exercising each control one at a time. I was using a dedicated Electro-Harmonix 200mA power supply during the test with no other pedals in the signal path. Had it not failed it would have been a real contender for my pedal board. I purchased the Caline 10-band EQ at the same time in case this pedal either had a problem or the 4k turned out to be a band filter. I recommend that pedal over this one even though it is 3.5x wider. I would have liked this pedal more if the sliders had LED lights in them. ... show more
