When I fence, I put a piece of pipe through the center of the roll, and have some hold the end, as I walk out the desired length. This product is great! Where we live, there are many predatory animals that love our chickens; Fox, fishercats, bald eagles, owls, neighbors dogs, coyotes, raccoons, etc. so far, nothing has penetrated this wire. We have seen fox walk right by. Either they are the dumbest fox in the neighborhood, or they just don’t know the girls are there. My guess, they didn’t know. But how could they not know. The girls are not quiet when they want out of the coop. Anyway, it’s very strong, sturdy and a great quality. So far it hasn’t rusted either. It may be a bit early to to see rust. It was very easy to install also. It’s well packaged and unrolls easily, but not so easy that it gets out of control like flexible chicken wire, which is a pain. This stuff is fantastic! We plan to buy more for a bigger run and possibly for another garden bed. It’s great stuff!!. ... show more

The roll came and the wire is obviously machine-welded and looks really good. I did not find any broken pieces, rust, or broken welds. I don't know how it will do long-term because I don't know if it will rust up. It was easy to handle and was stiff. We call this rabbit wire where I live and you could conceivably build rabbit hutches or any animal cage with it. I used it for chickens. The gloves are useless if you expect them to protect you from being poked by the wire because they are just gardening gloves, but if you are dragging the mesh around in mud or muck then I guess they serve a purpose. The cutters are the cheap kind you get when you buy a generic "home" toll kit for your first apartment to hang pictures and whatnot. They will do the job, but then you will probably just throw them away. I wire=tied everything together, but I am sure staples or fence nails or even zip-ties will hold it in place. Animals chew the zip-ties though so I would consider that temporary ... show more

Used to cover the walls of a a large duck coop. The package included the hardware cloth roll, small snip tool, and a pair of cotton gloves. Overall this is a good quality hardware cloth. Toward the end of the roll I did notice a few spots where it appears the galvanizing was a little light (dark spots), but most of it looked great. I didn't see any areas where the wires were not welded. This product was solid and was easy to work with. I used tin snips and my daughter used the snips that came with it. I recommend using a quality pair of tin snips to speed up the cutting process. If your are looking for a good quality hardware cloth, I recommend this one. ... show more

The gage of this wire is perfect for keeping critters out of your chicken coop. Critters can tear or chew through some gages. This is just right and not too hard to handle. The gloves and snippers were a great bonus. Perfect.

I bought this specifically for a structure we had built around several blueberry bushes so I wouldn't have to keep covering them each year with netting. The contractor we hired to build our enclosure was so impressed with this product, he took down all of the information so he can order some for use at his house. It's sturdy, is keeping the birds and chipmunks away from our ripe berries while letting sun and rain thru to the bushes.
