I purchased it in August 2023. I like the design and it comes with a lot of pockets and all details I needed. However, it did not come with external charging port as their description says or the tag on the bag says.     • Fantastic quality with MUCH more room than I expected!
The Ridge Classic backpack is far better than you might imagine... This isn't your box-store 'back-to-school' variety of backpacks. It's well-made, thoughtfully designed, and surprisingly large. Not only will it gobble-up all of your textbooks, but when I gave mine a more realistic test for my uses, I was able to pack it with several full-size studio microphones (which were inside a sizable hard-shell case), an audio mixing board, a pile of cables and connectors, a small microphone stand, a gooseneck stand, a microphone pop-guard, and several notebooks, folders, and books... oh, and some snacks — all with room to spare! The pack is made with a strong fabric designed to stop any rips or tears in their tracks, though after packing mine as I did, I failed to see how it could rip — unless I threw in a knife collection or a bunch of sharp scissors someday... The Ridge Classic backpack also comes with a well-designed water-resistant USB port that enables you to plug a device - such as a smartphone - into a charger or anything else packed inside the bag, without having to unzip the pack... Or you could use it to charge a USB device - such as a laptop - from inside the bag, by connecting a charger to the outside port. Either way, it's not only convenient, but likely to keep people from forgetting their devices while on the go, and makes it incredibly simple to charge without having to unpack your devices... As someone who tends to use bags and backpacks continually until they are in shreds and no longer useful, I am very much looking forward to years of service from the Ridge Classic backpack. This quality bag is likely to outlast my smartphones and tablets – as well as all of my other bags and packs – and just might be my new favorite way to carry everything with me when I'm on the road... This backpack is a bit small to really call a "commuter". It's about the equivalent size of a Jansport backpack with thin straps. Coming from a backpack with 2 separate main compartments, this only has 1 main compartment (I knew that buying it) but I didn't expect it to be that small. I can see maybe 2 large college textbooks fitting in it tops. My old backpack probably has double the capacity. It seems to be well made, but it's more for fashion. The drink holder could only hold narrow water bottles, you won't fit a 32 oz Gatorade. There are lots of pockets for those who like organization. As for durability, I wouldn't expect this to be used for rugged/outdoor use. Also, where is the charging port?! It's advertised when I bought it and they changed the design! False advertising! All-in-all I'll probably keep it mainly due to the rain proof function. But I hope that is not false advertising either. For the value, $145 is way too much. There are similar backpacks for $60 with more capacity, larger drink mesh, as well as a outside USB port. I don't think the weatherproof is worth an extra $80. Again, it's a FASHION backpack. I'll admit it looks cool. But it's just too small with limited functionality. ... show more

I purchased this backpack in December for travel. It’s perfect! I’ve been using it everyday since! Lots of pockets and very durable. Padded laptop compartment, hidden RFID pocket, and secret AirTag pocket! To many pockets to explain. All the bells and whistles I must say! I own other Ridge products such as the carbon fiber wallet, knife, and pen. I would definitely recommend buys this backpack and many other products Ridge has to offer! ... show more

I Purchased @ the end of June I started using it in August I work and travel out of the country and I am still in Asia. The inside liner in the second to the last zipper of the bag tore. I am Very disappointed with this product it only lasted 2 1/2 months and for the price and reviews I expected this bag to last a long time it looks durable and strong maybe this is a defect .I love the bag itself thank you for reading my review ... show more

Finally found the solution to a carry on that holds all the work stuff you need on the road. Big, but not too big. Super durable, but not too heavy. It has all the pockets you need in the right places. They are not paying me to say this. Wish I'd found this one 10 years ago.

I have a number of backpacks, almost one for every hobby. Looking for something with a minimalistic touch, but if needed has enough pockets to organize different things. I love the front pocket how it folds open almost like a suitcase and it utilizes the inside lining aswell for two extra pockets! The lining of the cellphone pocket was a nice touch, no hairline scratches from it moving around while it charges and my 12 pro max is snug but it fits perfectly. The hidden pocket is clutch too. My favorite thing is that it still looks nice enough to take to a meeting or travel or just to the hospital for work. And I don’t mind throwing it around when my laptop is in it because that laptop pocket is no joke! It’s stays true to form and is a nice snug feeling with almost a quilted lining. The attention to detail on this bag is next to none. I got the black one and I’m thinking of getting the green one now too! ... show more
