Well, this comes with EVERYTHING you need for endless fun and if you come from MY generation it brings back a ton of fun memories playing these games with the kiddies way back in the day. It's a lot in a very small package. Comes with 2 full-sized controllers. Runs on batteries and comes with all the cables and whatnots to connect to the t.v. Once you're set up it's GAME ON! Everything is well-made and I would clean with a damp cloth. I did take one star away because it came with all the details on how to install but it would have been SUPERB if it included a list of the hundreds of games installed. Other than that, it's an amazing value and, if I can get my adult children to come over and play a few games with me --- hours and hours and endless hours of fun! Definitely recommend. ... show more

I had set aside an hour or so to set up this game console, but it literally was plug and play as promised as long as your television has an HDMI port. It comes with all the parts needed, including a wall charging plug for the USB cable. What took me the next two hours was exploring the huge number of video games on the console. I didn’t realize it had been that long until my thumb began to hurt – apparently I don’t have the gaming callouses needed for long stretches of playing, lol. I had only begun to explore in that time because not only were there 210 games, but also while there were good start-up instructions there were no instructions for how to play the games that I tried. Some I recognized and immediately knew the basics, but others I was seeing for the first time and had to newly discover their nuances. If you were gaming during that time period (before 2000) you will know many of these games, which include the Pac Man and Mario Brothers genres and the boring, repetitive music and basic battles of the period. Finally, the retro extends into most of the cords, especially for the controllers, are too short since most of us are spoiled by wireless ones. I’m not complaining, though, as it was fun and I will be exploring more soon. ... show more

The boombox look is cute. The antennae, and most of the knobs are just for looks. It has two working switches: one for on/off, and one for reset. It works great and includes everything you need to hook it up to your TV's HDMI port. It is powered by a cord and comes with a USB cord. You will need to provide a brick if you plan to plug it into a wall socket. Lots of fun 8-bit games that can be played by one or two players. First off, it has super nintendo controllers which would be cool if it had ANY super nintendo games. It only has GENERIC nintendo games. No Mario, no games anyone has ever heard of... so the only buttons that work are the D pad, start, and X and B. No other buttons work, to restart a game, you have to turn in off and on. So, I thought this was going to have classic arcade games on it, and it doesn’t. It has weird versions of them. The controllers don’t work great with the games, and the unit itself seems very cheaply made.
