I had thoroughly reviewed the limited truck bed covers available for the 2017 Honda Ridgeline and decided to go with the Extang Exceed. After completing this installation, I have to admit that I am surprised by some of the comments regarding this and other bed covers. This is an extremely easy installation, with parts well organized and clear to understand instructions. What simplifies the install is to always remember to not tighten any nut or bolt until the frame is aligned and in place. Torque bolts and nuts to detailed specifications only after all alignment is complete. That simple procedure will save anyone the frustration of proper fitting. Applying a quality UV vinyl protectant will extend the life and color of the vinyl covering. Great bed cover that provides style and protection. ... show more

    • Looks good but leaks, construction quality and operation are poor requiring modification. DO NOT BUY
Update Oct 2022, bought March 2020: Plastic covering that is glued over metal panels has shrunk to the extent that it has pulled from sides , is curing up and cracking at the seams. 1. Lots of metal shavings everywhere, requiring vacuum removal to prevent hand cuts, dog pad lacerations and possible dog ingestion…... 2. Bulkhead gasket seal material packed with a rubber band causing permanent deformations and damaged backing tape. Not a big deal as the bulkhead gasket material is too thick so was not used. 3. Passenger side keyed slot assembly at head of cab not positioned far enough to the passenger bed wall resulting in the bolts just barely engaging in the slots. Driver side had opposite issue as it JUST fit inside the driver side rail. 5. Tail panel latch engagement into the rails is poor, with each side only engaging half required distance as the latch assembly is not wide enough, even with both sides latch palls moved out as far as possible. This causes the back panel to be raised in an automatic car wash. !@#$ 6. The cover leaks from the sides, bulkhead and back…… In summary, minus the great look of the cover, which is quite nice on my Black Edition Ridgeline, I am not happy with the design and manufacture quality of the Exceed cover, especially an assembly with a $900 price tag. ... show more

Received this and it arrived without any damage. Panels were protected with bubble wrap and all hardware separately bagged. this made it easy to identify the correct parts at each stage of installation. There were addendum instructions for installing on the Ridgeline. I think using the existing bolts for the upper hold-downs in the Honda makes for an easier installation. Installation took less than an hour. I re-used the Upper Hold-Downs. They do not interfere with the cover system at all. The trunk does hit the rails so it only opens and about 90-95% now, but I don’t think That’s a Problem. with cover completely closed, the trunk opens about 50% which might impact getting larger items out, additionally the lights do not shine in. Open the first need cover and the trunk opens about 75% AAMS the lights do shine in the trunk at that point. I installed it on a 2018 RTL-E. The cover is extremely easy to use and looks really good on the truck. I’m am very pleased with it so far. ... show more
