  • Excellent Shocks for mix of comfort, offroad ability, and utility.
Shocks are always one of my first upgrades. These feel soft and confident, and improves the ride quality to close to that of a luxury SUV (as close as you can get with two solid axles). I prefer a firm ride thats forgiving over bumps, so I keep my front shocks dialed in around 7 and rear shocks around 5. When towing, I like to crank the rear all the way up to 9. While these might not be as flexy as others in this price range, they are an excellent upgrade to any setup for a great mix of comfort, utility, and off-roadability. ... show more

  • Quality product at a great price.
This shock completed the full lift I installed on my Jeep Wrangler JKU. All of the Rancho products I purchased in this kit including these shocks are of top quality at a great price. The install was easy and the adjustable settings make it perfect to fine tune your ride.

  • Awesome shock
Such a difference compared to the factory Rubicon shocks on my 2008 Unlimited. Love the adjustability, I adjust them all the time based on what I am doing. 2 of the boxes were missing the shock decals which sucks because no one carries them. Not life or death but they are pricey and I expect my darn decals! ... show more

  • Outstanding shocks!
Great product. Very high quality. For the record, these rears shock come with a high quality hard plastic boot which works well for rear location on a Jeep Wrangler. I had rear shock with a rubber boot and they just sag down. The Rancho boots are locked in place, protect well and look great!

  • Does NOT come with rubber boot, but instead fake boot "sleeve" made out of plastic. Feels cheap.
Just got these in today. Have not tested ride quality, because I haven't installed them yet. I am planning to install my lift kit next week along with these shocks and will update this. However, my first impression is somewhat negative. I was expecting a silicone rubber boot on these, as is shown in the pictures, and which would match my front shocks. Instead, these have a really fake looking hard plastic boot. It is red, and corrugated to look like an expanding boot. But it only attaches at the top of the piston, and slides over the body of the shock, with a loose fit, like a sleeve. It is not flexible at all, nor does it expand. I don't know why Rancho went to this cheap-ass design for these instead of the real rubber boot it shows in the pictures, but this is very disappointing. I just want everyone to know that you most likely will not get an expanding rubber boot for these. As of now, I can only give this 3 out of 5 stars. I hope the ride quality of the shock stands up to what I am expecting, but I feel like I have been bait-and-switched when it comes to the boot. I will be contacting Rancho to demand an answer to this. ... show more

  • BEWARE of defective shocks
I ordered a pair of both front (RS999329) and rear (RS999330) for my JKU and in both pairs, one shock was defective. My 6 year old could compress one of the rear shocks I received and one of the front shocks wasn't much better. It's a shame, because it looked like these had already been returned once before (box opened and hardware missing from the defective front shock). I called Rancho customer service and they said I shouldn't be able to compress either so easily and across the pair they should be compressing at similar rate. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE COMPRESSION ON BOTH SHOCKS BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR INSTALL. Thankfully Amazon has a great return policy, I just wish they would do a better job with quality assurance before shipping out product. I have not installed yet, but once I receive the replacements, I'll revise this review to address the actual product. ... show more

  • Greatly improve the ride.
These shocks have greatly improved the ride of my 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited. I have a 2" lift on my Jeep so these are the perfect length. I recently bought new tires and after the mechanic drove my Jeep around to the shop entrance and onto the lift, he came and got me. He told me that my shocks must be blown because Jeeps usually ride very rough and my shocks are not giving the same resistance as what he is used to. He said that when he drove my Jeep into the shop, it rode like a Cadillac so the shocks must be blown. I told him that the shocks were only about 8 months old and that they are Rancho adjustable shocks and they are not blown. He was very surprised that the shocks would make the Jeep ride so much better. ... show more
