I originally bought 4 of these for each corner but ended up purchasing 2 more for a total of 6. I added the two on to the middle in case a smaller boat ties up or if I want to hang additional fenders for additional protection. These brackets are probably one of the best accessories I've purchased for my pontoon and make adjusting fender heights easy. I regularly tie up with others on the sandbar and it's such a relief to just pull back the adjuster and drop the fender where it fits best instead of trying to untie and re-tie with the plastic hang on brackets. Tying off at various height docks / sea walls is quicker too. The brackets are also capable of sliding up and down the rail if there's a need to move them to a better spot. I also tend to leave my fenders hanging full time while cruising around (pulled higher while moving) and they haven't moved a bit. I don't really have any worry that they'll release or snap off compared to a plastic hang on rail bracket, but it would be nice if they had some type of hole added to the bracket to tie the rope through just for a little extra insurance. These brackets also have not interfered when snapping the cover back on to the boat. Some other colors would be a nice option given these white brackets stick out a little bit on a black boat, though my lime green fenders usually take the attention away. They're definitely on the pricier side, but the ruggedness, ease of adjustment, and extra insurance compared to a cheap plastic hang-on bracket is worth the investment for boats that cost as much or more than a new pickup truck these days. ... show more

I've purchased many different styles of fender hangers and this one works the best for me. I've had several other hangers fall off the boat loosing my fender and hanger. While this hanger is somewhat costly, it will not fall off. It also allows for very easy adjustment of the fender.

I gritted my teeth and bought 2 of these and very satisfied. Rugged, easy to use and, unlike some other options. work as advertised. A little looae on my rail ao I glied some rubber onto the upper section. Remember to tie a stop knot in your fender rope to avoid losing a fender. UPDATE - I wound up buying two more, seriously, these things are the easiest way to hang, adjust or remove fenders. ... show more
