I bought the previous version of this -- the Trym II -- about 5 years ago and couldn't have been happier with it. Eventually the battery started to go, but it worked great keeping it plugged in. After my partner accidentally dropped the power adapter I thought I'd shop around and see what other products were available. I am thrilled with the TRYM Trimmer thus far. My old Wahl Trimmer battery finally bit the dust after years of service. I was attracted to the sleek contemporary styling of this Trimmer as I am a design professional. I like my products and devices to be beautiful to look at. I was slightly concerned about how it would feel in my hand, and am happy to report that it is perfect. It is quite slim, and easy to grip and manipulate into differing positions. And it is perfectly balanced with an ideal weight (not too light). It’s slightly noisy ... expected at this price point ... which can be annoying when trimming that pesky ear hair. Sheesh ... other than my small balding spot, the most annoying part of getting older. But the most BRILLIANT feature of this Trimmer is the charging options. PURE has designed the plugs to allow the cord to fit both the charging stand and directly into the Trimmer. That versatility is a highly desired feature, in that I can leave the charging stand at home when traveling with the Trimmer. I must say, your designers thought of everything. Says what it does, and does what it says. That's the highest praise one can offer up on any product these days. However, TRYM does it with true style - a sense of panache that seems to be missing in the world of today. Picking up the TRYM is a sensory experience that mere words fail to convey. The heft is satisfying, exuding that pleasing quality of being just right no matter how you hold it. Yet... the overall design falls short of perfection. The included "guides" give you a startling array of choices for beard length, so long as one wants short or shorter stubble. You had better want your "beard" - and I shudder to even call it that, perhaps "stubble farm" is more apt - one-half inch long, or less. If you wish for longer, you are out of luck. Period. End of Story. Full stop. Sadly, precision is not the strong suit of the TRYM. That oh-so-satisfying design hides a beast that excels at cutting vast swaths of hair in a hurry. If you want all of the hair growing on your head to be one-quarter inch, well... TRYM will shock and amaze you as to how quickly that will be done. If you are trying to trim a mustache, be very, very careful. One slip and you may be going to ground and starting over. I want TRYM to be perfect just because it is to experience nirvana to hold it. Sadly, it is too far into Mr. Hyde territory than Dr. Jekyll. Perhaps refinement is in the cards and perfection can yet be reached. ... show more

I bought the previous version of this product, the Trym, about 5 years ago and was happy with it. Eventually the battery and speed of the trimmer started to go, but it still worked while keeping it plugged in. After trying the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Men's Razor and being sorely disappointed by the precision, power, size of the trimmer head and the constant need to change the Double A battery, I decided to re-order the newest version of the Trym. So far I've noticed that it is definitely more powerful. The boxy and basic design makes this more a body trimmer than a face trimmer for me ergonomically. I was satisfied with the product the first time around that I was comfortable re-ordering the newer version knowing that I'd have a quality trimmer for years at a value price! ... show more

I recently purchased a second TRYM trimmer (TRYM Lithium Beard Trimmer & Hair Grooming Kit), when my first trimmer (TRYM II) began intermittently accepting a charge after years of service. I prefer the slim design and ease of handling at different angles with this product. Using the different blade height attachments for grooming my beard, mustache, and even the occasional bushy eyebrows. It’s a quick grab, and a quick groom, that I can count on without losing a lot of time in front of the mirror to get that growth back into shape. I've purchased two of these over the last ~4 years and the one with lithium ion battery is definitely a big improvement as longevity of the battery is vastly improved. Recently, one of the plastic guards broke when I dropped the trimmer (the trimmer still works fine!). When I called to inquire about a replacement blade, the Trym customer service team sent me an entirely new trimmer. Kudos for standing behind their products with amazing customer service.
