Just received my President Virginia, installed it to my Subaru with a Cobra 25ltd NW. I checked my swr 1:1, 1:1.2 across the band. Got a radio check roughly 5miles away from me saying I was giving them 9lbs on their receive. Keep in mind that you compromise distance with this 1/4 wave antenna. You're not going to be Dx'ing across the country bearfoot unless you have a foot warmer 100watts max. Even then you may or may not get out, all depends on mother nature. This antenna is good for road trips, line of sight communication with other drivers on the road. Astecticly it looks good and it's not screaming cb in your car or truck. I have a nice placement of my radio due to lack of space in the console of my car. Overall it's a very good antenna for my application. ... show more

    • Durable quality antenna
This antenna has been on my van for year. I wash my van weekly and have not removed the antenna. It works just the same and it’s not messed up in any manner. It hasn’t moved at all from where I placed it on my van a year ago. Seems quality.

Actually surprised at the performance of this tiny antenna. Worked some skip with it on SSB. Perfect for around town or the highway. Looks good. Tuned well to my President McKinley. The tiny gauge wire is fragile. I wouldn't run it through the car wash as I have heard otherts say. Obviously not as much gain as my big boy antennas but my friends don't laugh at me now for having a CB in my car. ... show more

I looked all over for my 'President Andy || CB' an antenna that would work best as a setup. Most Antennas left me unhappy because they were weak and they flew off my car's roof at 30mph. Most important thing is this one can easily withstand 80mph on the highway and I'm confident it can do over 100 mph no stress. Magnet is STRONG. The wire is thinner and length is perfect and tilt can be angled so you can get into your garage. Must tune the President Andy CB and antenna with the 'Workman SWR Meter for CB Radio Antennas SWR2T' If you have an SUV and want to put the antenna all the way back near shark-fin you will need to get the extension wire 'MOOKEERF PL-259 UHF CB Coax Cable 6FT, RG58 PL-259 UHF Male to SO239 Female Low Loss Antenna Extension Jumper Cable ' THis should help you tremendously if you want to get your setup looking sweet. ... show more

I put this on my 2021 venue and this thing is great I had a wilson 1000 and replaced it with this president Virginia CB antenna and u can believe it or not but I received and transmitted out farther than the Wilson and it comes pre tuned and the magnet is very strong all u have to do is plug it up and your talking I’ve had several people say that’s a CB antenna? But I was leery about the thin coax but it was better because now it don’t get pinched in the rear hatch. Love it love it. Go buy one this is by far the best antenna for the price and u won’t regret it ... show more

    • If the antenna is what’s keeping you from installing a radio, look no further!
If you give this antenna anything less than 5 stars it’s because you either don’t know anything about CB (or radio in general) or your setup is all wrong. This antenna is never going to perform as well as a large whip or fiberglass antenna, but you should know that going into it with only 20 inches of antenna. You can create electrical length all you want but physical length is what counts with receiving. So now having said all that, if you either don’t want a large whip antenna for aesthetic reasons or can’t have one because of garages, then this is the antenna for you. I installed this today on my dad’s F150. I’m using it with a President Bill radio and a RM Italy KL203P amplifier. The amp runs about 100ish watts and has a pre-amp, so it does boost the receive a bit. I had a crystal clear conversation today with a guy that was 2.5 miles line of sight. I would say without a pre-amp that would be about the best you can expect out of this antenna, but chances are if you’re looking at an antenna like this, that’s about all you would need. As a comparison, before this antenna I was using a Larsen NMO27B and was talking to a guy who was 12 miles line of sight from me. That antenna is a 49” base loaded whip so it is two and a half times the length of this antenna. I would say with a pre-amp you can expect maybe out to 5ish miles in good conditions on this antenna. Also, my SWR on channel 1 was 1.3:1, on 40 it was 1.5:1, and on 19 it was 1.1:1. Surprising on an antenna this short, super surprising on a magnet mounted antenna this short. ... show more

Understandably I was disappointed upon opening the package and saw that the rubber footing/pad that's supposed to protect your vehicle was ripped right out of the box. It looked as if it was repackaged and then resent out to a new buyer...Unfortunately, that new buyer is yours truly. The device still works however and is simple to use but now I'm worried it's going to scratch my 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe...And that I can not have. ...Guess I won't be using this antenna anytime soon until I figure out a way to keep it from scratching my vehicle's paint. ... show more
