πŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

This compressor is a well-received product with a mix of positive reviews highlighting its functionality, reasonable price, and good fit for occasional use and smaller workspaces. Customers appreciate its quick recovery time, ability to maintain pressure, and compact size, which does not compromise performance. However, some users reported issues such as initial leaks, noise level, and shipping damage. Despite these drawbacks, the compressor is praised for its efficiency in powering tools and easy mobility in a garage setting.

Pros

  • πŸ‘ Perfect for intermittent use with a reasonable cost.
  • πŸ‘ Quick recovery time and maintains pressure well.
  • πŸ‘ Compact and fits well in small spaces, easy to move around.
  • πŸ‘ Good advice included for tank maintenance and easy draining feature.

Cons

  • πŸ‘Ž Takes a while to pump up and is noisy.
  • πŸ‘Ž Shipping issues can lead to damage upon delivery.
  • πŸ‘Ž Some units arrived with leaks needing repair.
  • πŸ‘Ž Handle and assembly parts may pose challenges during setup.

Should I Buy It?

If you are in need of a compact, efficient air compressor for occasional use and are able to manage or overlook minor issues such as noise and potential initial maintenance, this product could be a good fit. Its pros outweigh the cons for those seeking a reasonably priced, reliable tool for home or light industrial use. However, if top-notch quality control and a whisper-quiet operation are non-negotiable for you, you might want to consider other options.

  • Does the job at reasonable cost - good for intermittent use
Takes a while to pump up and is noisy, but that's what to expect at this price point. Perfect for my occasional use. Replaced a similar Craftsman unit which I kept too long, as it had extensive tank corrosion. New unit's tank is tagged with a label to replace by 2031 - good advice based on what I saw on old unit - you don't want a tank explosion. Also bought a pull cable operated drain valve from Amazon to facilitate frequent draining of the tank. ... show more

  • Nice Product
Some reviewers mention lack of assembly parts. When I received mine the parts were at the very bottom of the box under the packing, easy to miss. The handle was not bent to match the attachment points so was difficult to start the bolts but pulled up OK. The compressor works as it should. It pumps up quickly to 150 psi and shuts off automatically. When I released some of the pressure it restarted on auto at =/~ 120 psi and cycled back up to 150 psi. I used it to air up some tires and switched the control to off with the pressure at 150 psi. I checked the unit this morning after a cold night and it is holding at 140 psi with the compressor control in the off position which suggests that the system is tight. The unit fits well in the space I have in my garage and can be moved easily on level concrete. I am happy with my purchase. Will edit this review if the unit proves unreliable. ... show more

  • Pretty easy to set up.
Works good. I only run a few impact wrenches or die grinders at a time, but this unit keeps right up. Compressor is loud, but really, not as bad as I thought it would be. More the fault of the shipper than the seller, mine arrived in an torn up box and the top plastic cover is busted. It works great and I'm not all that concerned about the plastic. ... show more

  • Was Pleasantly Surprised
Considering the price and the size..It is a great compressor. Not as loud as my previous 3 gallon pancake compressor. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for an upgrade from a 1 to 3 gallon compressor. It runs my pneumatic tools without any issues. And has a very small footprint, doesn't take up much more space than my older compressor. I've only had it for a month, but I can't imagine being without it now. ... show more

  • Damaged upon delivery
I'm not sure if it was like this from the warehouse or happened during delivery but when I brought it in the house I instantly noticed the box was beat up and flimsy looking. Upon opening the package I noticed the Styrofoam was broken into tons of pieces. I pulled the compressor out and noticed damage right away. The plastic housing that covers the motor was cracked in 2 places, the screw on air filter housing was bent and the push handle was bent into the plastic housing which is what caused it to crack. My first instinct was to return it but for me to do so would be a huge hassle. I work 6 days a week and shipping out a 98 pound compressor and waiting for a new one would be a huge pain. I put the wheels on and fired up the unit to see if it worked ok it runs great so I decided to just deal with it. I bent the handle back out with a crowbar, used pliers to straighten out the air filter housing and my girlfriend was nice enough to glue the cracks for me. I built a work shop and was really exited to finish it off with this I will make the best of it but over all pretty unhappy. ... show more

  • Nice unit.
This is a nice unit. I've had a Craftsman 15 gallon horizontal air compressor for over 20 years, but it finally gave up on me. This vertical compressor does the job, is fast on recovery and fits my needs. It is easily moved to other parts of my work area and takes up little space. I like it.

  • Some leaks on arrival, but I still like the machine.
Compressor arrived with 4 leaks. A fizzer leak at the threads of the exhaust elbow, a fizzer leak at one end of the threads on switch assembly nipple and an audible leak at other end of the same nipple. Also, there was a kink on 1/4" copper relief tube that started as a fizzer leak but quickly turned into a blower when I tightened the nut. The exhaust leak I just tightened the nut. The leaks at the nipple going from the tank to the switch assembly I had to remove the switch assembly (along with wiring) and the nipple. I applied thread sealer to the nipple threads at both ends and tightened it all back together, properly. I replaced the 1/4" copper relief tube. At first I was really aggravated to have to do all this, but Amazon was pretty helpful with compensation and, even considering these poor quality control issues, I really like this compressor.. so far. Price ain't bad, either. All the welds look good on my unit. Too soon to tell the quality of the motor. I went back and forth on what I would score this review. I like this machine, but I, fortunately, have the time to spend working on it to correct the issues. Others may not. Ultimately, I decided 3 stars was most fair. A word of warning for those who are going to attempt repairs with zero experience working on compressors (like me): make sure absolutely all if the air pressure is removed from the machine before working on it, or be prepared to buy new underwear. ... show more

  • Great size for home and light industrial use.
This was ordered as a replacement for a Porter Cable pancake air compressor which worked flawlessly for 22-years and then finally breathed its last breath! As my husband and I have renovated our house, and then our house and cottage at the beach and this unit is replacing "old reliable" to complete our project. We both like the the stand-up design and the larger capacity....as personally being in a room with a compressor running isn't on my list of favorite things. I feel confident that we will get a long service life from this unit. ... show more
