  • Nice
I tried different types of bottles - 2L soda bottle; it worked but it was too heavy, I plan to use the bigger bottles outside in the garden. - Wine bottle, not all wine bottles fit the dripper but those that fit were also too heavy for the dripper especially when the plant is a small house plant. It might work outside in the garden too. - Disposable water bottle worked ok but it was too flimsy. Other types of disposable soda bottles will work better so that it is easier to insert the dripper with out crushing the bottle and spilling water all over your floor. It works with patience and some tricking. ... show more

  • Your plants would die
Color: 6 Pack
This plastic pieces are not working . They are only compatible with very few plastic water bottles . The dripping is stopping after a couple of hours . I tried them all which came in the shipping bag. Absolutely not reliable. I have to try to send it back .

  • It's ok
Color: 18 Packs
Didn't work as hoped. I used on hose plants and first of all, it makes the plant appear weird bcuz the bottles are way taller than my small plants. Also, when you put the bottle in, it waste a lot of water out before you can get it secure. Maybe it's me.

  • Take time to Set up and Will work well
Color: 12 Pack
These take some messing with to get them to work, but I feel it is worth it as it does work. I feel that if you are using it with potted plants that you should d o one at a time. Once you have it installed then test it for a few days before placing your potted plant where are you wanted to go. Take your time putting the black spike and the little hose and nozzle into the potted plant to make sure it is in there well. Then add your water bottle that is full of water. I used mountain dew plastic bottles and they worked just fine. Depending on how you have put the small hose with a nozzle into the dirt will relay how much water gets into the plant. The big nozzle is just for supporting the water bottle so you can place that most anywhere in the pot as long as it is upright, but it’s the little hose with the little tiny nozzle that is for letting the water drop into the dirt. This is What you want to pay the most attention to because this is where the water is coming out of. If you don’t get it in the dirt correctly it will either clog up or the balance will be off and the water won’t drip down into the dirt. Once you get it correctly done you never have to mess with it again so taking the time to do this first will save you time later. Once you have it correct then from that point on all you need to do to refill the bottle is grab the water bottle from the spike that’s holding it fill it with water and place it back in there again and the whole process will pretty much take care of itself. Please note that there is a little bit of a ridge on the nozzle stake so you can twist the bottom on about a half a turn this helps stabilize it on that large stake nozzle. I think that’s another important step to keep the water inside the bottle until it starts to slowly drip out of the nozzle. ... show more

  • Great idea, but poor implementation of that idea
Color: 6 Pack
The concept of having a device that I could just use a spare water bottle, put it on the device and meter water by the drop while away from home made a lot of sense to me, but unfortunately the implementation of that idea was poorly designed and manufactured. To start with, even though many of the bottles I had would fit inside the device, when filled completely with water, they would not remain in place and were easily knocked off. Had the design included threads for the bottle to screw into, that might have solved that problem. Then the metering of the water drops is just not precise enough. You either get a stream of water or no water at all. There is just no way to get the setting right without spending several days to adjust each assembly over and over until you think you have it right, only to find out 24 hours later that all the water has drained from the bottle, or none of the water has drained out. The mechanism is only a press fit valve which moves a plastic rod inside a sleeve. The valve should have been made out of brass; I know that would significantly increase the price, but it would be worth it to save houseplants that we have had for a long time. ... show more

  • Good choice while not home few days
Color: 12 Pack
The self-watering spike is very easy to assemble. However, it needed bigger cap bottle such as sport drink bottle to match with it better. Normal water bottle can work but hard to keep stable. Overall, it is still a very good choice while you are not home for a few days.

  • Didn't work
Color: 12 Pack
Unfortunately I missed the return deadline. These really don't have any consistency in the water flow. They either let the water drain too fast or they stopped working. I ordered them in advance of a trip so I could test them before hand. I was able to adjust them to regulate flow but there was not any consistency of flow to them but they worked enough I felt they would be useful during a vacation. Unfortunately I came home and all the bottles still had water in them despite me seeing water trickling out prior to leaving. I used various sizes of water bottles on different size plants. I guess the fact they drained a bit too quickly was my mistake in thinking a lower flow would continue to drip. Definitely not worth the money. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
I loved the idea behind these as I have a small garden and need a way to keep it watered when I am out of town for a day or two. You can pretty much stick any bottle In these. However my gallon bottle was so heavy it pushed the entire spike into the soil and clogged the drip. Other times the bottle tipped over somehow and just emptied its contents entirely. The drip system requires lots of trial and error to find the proper drip speed, the first time I tried I came back to a completely emptied gallon bottle after only a few hours. These would work well for single potted plants however I would not recommend for a garden with multiple plants. I do not regret buying but not quite as helpful as I hoped! ... show more
