I got this for my husband for chirstmas, he loves to cook and he was looking for a nice set of knives. He really liked this set. they look really nice, it comes with 22 pieces including the sharpener. They are very nice and not that heavy. In the instructions they recommend to do not use the dishaswer so we are washing them by hand. As a little tip I will recommend that when you was them dry them upside down since some water gets in the handle. The base spins it is a nice little feature when you are cooking. My husband is happy witht his purchase and me too. SIX YEAR UPDATE. We still love the set. Some knives got a little rusted but you can't even tell. Im lazy so now I do place them in the dishwasher lol. Very happy with the set ... show more

The block and knives look great and are comfortable to hold. The problem is the knives are poorly constructed. The tang is not full and is prone to rust with normal handwashing. The knives also do not keep an edge very well and require far more regular sharpening than other brands. If it is a beginner knife set or one that will be rarely used or is mainly for display purposes, it is fine. But for daily use, choose something different. ... show more

Product came fast and was exactly like advertised with a bonus surprise! They don't mention that the butcher block has a swivel base and turns a full circle either direction, this could be a useful thing, the knives seem very sharp, was a little surprised by each of their weight as I am used to heavier knives, but as long as they stay sharp and don't fall apart I am happy, The price was great and it looks great on my counter. Never got anything on Amazon that I wasn't happy with yet! Thanks for yet another great product at a good price as that's why I found it and bought it!!! :-) UPDATE!!!!! I changed my review and after reading others it appears to be true... My set is nothing but a waste of money, they are very light weight and now I know why, the handle has nothing but a little piece of plastic in it. The tact connecting the cheap handles together rusted into and fell apart. the knifes rust to the point after they are pulled out of the holder you have to scrap them rust free or get poisoned and you have to sharpen them after every use. I am sooo surprised and disappointed in this brand as they usually make good products, well the designer should be arrested for this rip off design. Bought this and in a short time of ownership, one of the steak Knifes blades fell out of the handle. I contacted the company and they replaced the knife telling me that it was a one time courtesy. I have three more knife that did the same. I do not put the knifes in the water at all. I wash and drain right away and that shouldn't have to be. If I put them in water they would fall apart completely. The block is pealing the color (black) at the area wear the knifes go in. I would look somewhere else for your needs. ... show more

I just took it out the box. I Love it, it's so sheek used it and it slices so nicely Update: After one year they look horrible. Rusted up on the outside and the handle. I will not purchase again. Yes I hand dried them and turned them upside down to make sure all the water was out the handle.
