At first I thought this was going to be too small to really make anything, but it fit perfectly in my kitchen because I don’t have a lot of space for storage. It was super easy to use, the recipe book has guides and instructions, although the time frames are kind of broad but I think it’s because they leave it for you to base on your preference. Like we did bananas and the guide said to dehydrate for 8-24 hours, we initially set it for 8 hours and then did an additional 8 hours. The machine is also super quiet, the fan in my bedroom is louder than that haha ... show more

    • Food Dehydrator -- high quality, good value for price
This is a very well designed unit with temp settings from 95F to 158F. Plastic cabinet is solid, not flimsy, but bright red. The door has a clear panel to view contents in the unit. Very quiet operation. Loud beeping chime when unit is done running to alert you to remove/check contents for sufficient dryness. Unit comes with four wire mesh trays. The mesh on the trays is wide so not suitable for drying loose fine herbs without placing those in some sort of container or on a section of metal window screen folded up at the edges. Works very efficiently for fruit and vegetables, mushrooms. Have not tried the jerky recipes. Beware the included recipe book has a lot of typos, and may not include all ingredients and steps in each recipe. Suggest seller at least update and edit and put a sticker on the booklet with URL for the corrected version online. ... show more

This is a pretty good food dehydrator. It is small enough to fit in small kitchens with limited space, and is incredibly quite. The only downsides I have with this is that the door doesn't close fully, and the temperature only changes 9 degrees at a time and the timer can only be set by hour.     • Pretty good but missing things
Overall it's a good a machine but it was missing a couple pieces (fruit roll sheet and recipe book). I contacted customer service and they said they will send me replacements. Will update if they don't arrive. Otherwise it works well, I've made both beef jerky and dried fruit with so far.

What a great, well-fitted, little machine. It works well for small spaces and is designed very well. The motor works like a champ as well. Forget big dehydrators!!!

    • Broke Within the First Hour
6/26/20 UPDATE: I've spoken to customer service, but after a series of misunderstandings in the conversation, I've decided to just return the unit through Amazon. It was much more frustrating than it was worth. I've changed my review rating based on the customer service I've received, but unfortunately I do not think this product or company is for me. I JUST purchased this. Per the instructions, I cleaned and prepared the dehydrator for first time use and ran the dehydrator for 30 minutes. I walked away from it after staying around for about 5 minutes to ensure it was on and doing its thing. I come back 20-30 minutes later (I set the dehydrator for an hour since that is the minimum you can turn the knob) and find it completely off. Pressed the on/off button again -- nothing happens. I unplug it and replug it in and was not greeted by the LED screen lighting up nor a beeping sound. Suffice it to say, if there is some sort of first time automatic shut off and cool down period, it is not clearly documented in the manual. Otherwise, I am led to believe that I received a faulty product which is not a great first impression. I will contact customer service and update my review with that experience. ... show more

    • Over priced, subpar machine, terrible customer service
Easy to use. First thing is it doesn't have the option to specificly dial in the exact temperature you want. 2nd thing is there's no on /off button, which I think is key for any appliance. You actually have to pull the plug from the outlet on the wall, which is pretty dangerous and non logical flaw of the dehydrator. And last but not least is the fact that customer service is terrible. I was supposed to get my machine on the 16th . After not receiving it I used the tracking number they issued and it wasn't showing up on the ups website. After going on the seller page on amazon realized there are no customer service number and or email. So after researching customer service on web found the nutrichef website. There's no number bytw, so after emailing the company I got a response after 14 days by email. I eventually got my dehydrator 3 days ago. I would say save your money on this one, it's over priced for it's value. And if something goes wrong , good luck , finding someone who cares about it with in the nutrichef company. Won't be buying anything from them again. ... show more

It's pretty small but I was able to dehydrate one apple, one banana and 9 medium strawberries at once. Took around 5 hrs at 149F. Turned out really delicious my 3 year old son loves them.
