The mixer is fine, however I ordered the 401, received the 400. The difference is that the 400 does not have the grater blade. I specifically ordered the 401 for that option.

The 1400-peak-watt power-dense motor is extremely powerful and can handle any task I throw at it, from crushing ice to mixing dough. The 6 preset Auto-iQ programs make it easy to create smoothies, extractions, bowls, spreads, chopping, and dough with the push of a button. The variable speed control allows me to customize the speed for precision chopping and mixing. The 72-oz. pitcher is perfect for making large batches of smoothies or dough, and the Nutrient Extraction Cup allows me to extract vitamins and nutrients from fruits and vegetables for smoothies and frozen drinks. The Smoothie Bowl Maker is a game changer, as it can power through frozen foods with less liquid for perfectly thick smoothie bowls, nut butters, and blender ice cream. This has turned out a terrific buy. My old cuisinart food processor and blender both punked out at the same time. I was thinking I had to make a choice and sacrifice some functions. However, the 55351 has solved all the food processing issues I have used it for. I love the attachment that is specifically to process smoothies. I have one for breadfast most days and they are always smooth and well blended. Most of mine have some form of nut, kale, etc. and it is always processed expediciously and pronto. A little noisy, but I live in a single family home. It blends soups well, chops nuts without a problem, etc. I haven't used it for dough, but I expect that won't be a problem. Also the attachments are easy to clean and don't usually get food stuck under the blades, which are sharp enough to cut up nuts and harder items with ease. The products I put in are almost always incorporated into the smoothie or whatever (cauliflower, fruit, etc.) and yields the product that the word "smoothie" employs. I was looking at some much higher end professional products and saw many complaints in the reviews so decided to check the less expensive Ninja and am more than delighted. It works better than I expected and better than the Cuisinart food processor that just died. I was going to replace both a food processor and blender for both, which had punked out at the same time. My food processor bit the dust around the same time my basic ninja blenders lid stopped latching. So I felt like this would be a good combo choice. I was wrong. The food processor portion is terrible. You have to cut the food up so small to fit, they you might as well just keep on chopping. The motor is extremely loud. And the lid to the blender cracked after about 2 weeks after I started using it. (I make a smoothie about every other day.) Tried to return/exchange and total pain. They don’t offer free returns. And I didn’t keep the packaging. So I am just stuck with a defective product that is usable, but not at all convenient. ... show more

Received this as a gift and I've used it EVERY day since receiving it. I don't think I'll ever get a different brand. I own several ninja products and they never cease to amaze me. This blender is POWERFUL and kinda loud but I love love love the smoothies you can make. The cup it comes with makes it so convenient. This is poorly designed, it is not a good blender and not a good food processor because of the unusual shape. The blender pitcher does not blend smoothly, smoothies come out grainy. The food processor attachment keeps breaking. The disc wares into the top so the plastic starts burning and peels off into the food. I've had the problem with the food processor twice. Ninja refuses to replace the broken parts. Not worth the money. Better to buy a separate food processor and blender. ... show more
