  • Way less money for similar functionality to more expensive sliders
Size: 100cm
I have some Neewer lights and they're, uh, let's say "budget." They technically make light, but they were broken in various ways and they're generally inelegant in design. It's hard to believe that this slider is from the same company. The quality is extraordinary, from the carefully machined metal parts to the carbon fiber rods. The value comes from the third rail in the middle that can control rotation. It's a completely mechanical solution that adds significant cost when motors are required to do the same thing. I did a number of product shots and once you figure out the right distance, it's a smooth and appealing "wrap around" look for the camera. The ends stop smoothly, as a magnet at each end of the belt appears to trigger the controller to come to a stop. My only complaint is that the drive belt is not very robust. I had a C70 on it with a light 35mm lens, under the advertised weight limit, and the belt broke using it at 45 degrees. Made a frightening noise. The belt is the weak point in the whole system, and it's unfortunate that they do not provide a spare. I suggest buying one. ... show more

  • Comes with speed set too low - eventually Neweer tech resolved
Size: 100cm
Bottom line is, this is a good motorized slider for the price (if you can get it for under $275). Runs a Blackmagic 6K Pro with 16-35/2.8 lens nice and steady. There are a couple of important items to note, so please read this if you are initially frustrated: 1. you HAVE to select Gradient: Y if you want it to stop/start smoothly on each pass. I have no idea why this isn't the default, but I bet a lot of people are returning this because they can't figure out how to make it operate smoothly. Its buried in the instructions somewhere, but who reads those anymore? 2. The controller box is maxed out at a speed that is just too slow for most us. The movement is barely noticeable on camera. Obviously, need to speed that up right? Well Neewer product people apparently were getting too many complaints that the motor was too loud at the required speeds, so they stopped it via firmware from going fast enough. I got this info from the super nice and helpful Neewer customer service rep based somewhere in NJ who called me after I posted my frustrations in the questions section. However, a different Neewer rep based offshore somewhere emailed me a day later and sent me a firmware update that resolved the issue (though it did take another round of emails before I got instructions on how to install the update onto the controller). So, I know that a workaround DOES exist, but boy did it take massive effort, multiple back and forth with Neewer, and yes the result is that it's somewhat of a loud slider when going at optimal speed - but honestly most other brands I've used are just as loud or even louder. It's really nothing that can't be fixed in post, just do your best to place it away from your mics, and also record a few seconds of room tone with slider running so you can build a noise gate in post. 3. The rubber belts it ships with don't seem very rugged. Be absolutely sure you don't let anything get in the way of the slider while it's traveling back and forth. If these belts get jammed and stretch out, it may be hard to get smooth movement again. ... show more

  • Good Slider
Size: 100cm
I love the slider with the exception of the remote. The slider is a solid build material and with stands on one side and your tripod in middle you are stable with for stable video. It’s quiet and variable speed for different movements in video. **Update** Was able to upgrade to the wireless slider and it is much better option. Not being limited to the length of a cable on shoots is a must. For the money it’s definitely a solid buy. ... show more

  • This slider is amazing!!!
Size: 100cm
This slider is amazing. It is extremely user friendly and I was shocked that it came assembled. I had it up and running in less than 30 minutes. I am looking forward to utilizing it for my product commercials and interview segments.
