Because of my weird frame and unusually (for men) tilted pelvis, I often buy women's sizes because they tend to fit me better. This time, I'm not sure. For instance, this size fits my 35" waist perfectly, so that measurement runs true to size. Yet, unlike the photos, these are loose and billowy, which is excellent for athletic activity, but doesn't look anything like the photo. My guess: if someone has the correct sized waist, but runs a bit more bottom-heavy, then the fit should better match that of the models. For us reg'lar folks of either gender who have a less than 10" difference between waist and hips, they're going to be quite loose. If this is intentional on the part of the manufacturer: BRAVO! This runs totally counter to the current "paint it on" trend, and makes working out MUCH more comfortable! For my workout today, I walked 4 miles with no odd rubbing/chafing, and there were no restrictive moments on ellipticals, stairs and other leg-focused activities. They feel light, yet well-made. They remind me of my High School gym shorts...a lot! To top it off, they arrive well-protected in a box. Nice touch. These are thick, heavy sweat shorts. They have pockets. Hurray! The fit is good for me (size large), but unfortunately the waist band is too tight. If I had gone up a size, they would not have fit me as well everywhere else, so I'll have no choice but to reduce my waist size! But I do like them quite a bit. I'm an XXL by pretty much all standards, and I ordered the XXL size. These fit nice and are super soft and comfortable. The drawstring is thick, seems shorter than I would have expected since I like to tie bows in drawstrings. However, I find these shorts more comfortable without the drawstring tied, so having a short string keeps the string from flopping around too much. The shorts come in a three pack, so I took a photo wearing the dark slate color, since everyone knows what black and sweatsuit grey look like already. I like how they are dark, but they are a faded black (slate) color. These, as well as the other colors will go great with anything. These are fitting as expected, true to size. I hope my review helps others. This short set will be perfect for lounging around the house. I'm not sure if they are going to work yet for working out, and I don't see myself wearing these out. They are relatively comfortable, but the fit is a little weird. They rise up a bit on the sides and are longer than I need. In the pic with the pink and black ones, I have the waistband rolled down, which is how I'll wear them. Beware the lighter color options--the pink is pretty see-through (the pockets are very visible in the front). I do like the pockets. So overall, not a bad purchase if you are looking for something to lounge around the house in on a hot day. Otherwise, maybe go with something else. For reference, I'm 5'0" and 135 lb. These Neer Women's Sweat Shorts are a great value, offering both quality and variety. I ordered the basic 3-Pack of black, gray, and navy to provide a neutral base and not be limited in top options. The fabric blend is really soft and breathable and the length is just right, perfect for school or play. The elastic waist and drawstring are excellent for being between sizes and adjusting to slight weight fluctuations. The side pockets are always handy and delightful additions to most garments. There's aren't the most flattering because the midsection is kinda boxy, but they are very comfortable. The material it thick enough that they aren't see through but still light. Great for summer lounging.

This three pack of shorts is a great value and is made of quality material. I love that these have pockets, and I will be using them quite a bit for tennis. They work great for sports especially tennis and I love the colors and style. They fit well and are comfortable and the waist has a tie so they can be tightened for adjusting the fit.
