This thing is solid and excellent IF you install it properly: The base has a flared lip at the top (first photo) which is designed to rest on the TOP (outside) of the cupholder, but which is easy to mistakenly drop down INTO deeper cupholders like mine (Jeep Grand Cherokee). If you accidentally do that and then tighten it, only that lip will make contact with the sides of the cupholder, and the mount won't be stable. Expand the base BEFORE dropping it into the cupholder, then make it smaller again until it just drops in. NOW tighten it, and you're good! Installed that way, this thing is solid and excellent. It has multiple joints that enable you to swivel and angle it into virtually any orientation, anywhere within the cupholder vicinity, so you're going to be able to find the place that works best for you. It also comes with a couple of extra sections that you can swap in or out to make it really short, all the way up to really tall, with 4 different heights possible. You might have to stare at it for a while to figure out how to swap the pieces in and out, but since I own two of these you can see one at the shortest and another at the next-to-highest height in the last/fourth photo. The top part that actually holds your device has tabs on all four sides; the top and bottom tabs are angled inwards to secure your device firmly in place, while the side tabs are straight---making easy work of dropping your device into the bottom tabs, leaning it back into place, then adjusting and tightening only the top tab to finish securing it. Really well thought-out. The tabs are also deep enough that they hold my iPad with its case and screen cover, which almost doubles the thickness, with no problem. Drawbacks: despite the adjustability, you'll probably have to fuss with it for a while to get things exactly where you want them. In certain extreme configurations, the tightening wing-nuts can conflict with other nearby wing-nuts, making it a challenge to get the perfect setup. You also have to assemble the tabs and wing-nuts into the device holder yourself, but that's not too tough to figure out. Honestly I can't think of any other way I can ding this thing. I like it well enough that I ordered a second one, even though it was too big for the monitor you see on the bottom in the last picture. Instead, I just printed a frame for the monitor on my 3D printer and now it pops right in. I'm pretty sure if you get one you're going to like it a lot. ... show more

I really like this tablet mount for my galaxy s5e tablet. It looks and feels very well manufactured, easy to adjust and the tightening knobs or clamps allow the mount to feel sturdy and stable overall. The adjuster on the cup-holder end is a nice feature to allow for various sizes across makes and models of cars or trucks. I use this in my Toyota Tacoma, but it does have a flaw, and won't be secure if you use the cup-holder under the display screen of your Tacoma. I have not yet tried the center console cup-holder, but for me it's not an ideal location for the mount because of it's size. I've tried to modify it to allow a more secure fit but nothing has really worked, right now I've tried using heavy-duty velcro to help keep it secure. Lastly, it does tend to be a bit shaky while driving, to some that may not be an issue, but for me I can not get over it. I give it 4 stars for overall. Because I can't get over the slight shakiness of it, I'm looking in to getting another more expensive mount through another retailer. Sturdier than some. But more expensive too. About 3 inches too short in the height adjustment for my desired application in a 2019 Sprinter Van. My other complaint is it easily loosens in the cup holder. Resulting in the whole thing falling out on the floor if you don't tighten often. Which could result in a damaged tablet/phone or any cord plugged in. I am considering double faced tape for that issue. But didn't want tape residue in the cup holder. I haven't found anything better so I am living with its deficiencies. The positive is the joints on the two shaft parts have teeth and lock the swivel positions well. ... show more

I never leave reviews but I am changing that only because when I have gone to search and read about a product individuals are short on details, so here you go. The base of the stand is driven inside of a cup holder in my 2019 Tahoe. It spreads open as you crank on the wheel to disperse the base. I by no means am a small guy and I have cranked on the wheel to bite down and hold as tight as I could get it. As I cranked on it to tighten it up, NEVER once did it give me any cracking noise to where it was about to break or burst. The base hold really well in the cup holder and the stand is made really well! I mean absolutely sturdy and built well beyond what I expect from it!!! It has multiple joints that can be loosen to manipulate and face the tablet in ANY direction you choose to face it. Also comes with spare parts to either extend or shorten how high you would like you tablet to sit. I purchased the stand in hopes that I would hold my surface pro 7, in which it did but ONLY doing so with having to remove either the left or right side bracket that holds it in place. Even after removing it, I am still able to slide my 12.3” tablet onto the stand, cinch it down and fasten so it gets a tight grip so the tablet would not slide out and or fall. If you view the pictures I have posted, you will see where one side of the brackets has been removed. The brackets do have a small rubber pad that it sits on so it doesn’t cause damage or scratch your tablet or even hold it in place. So after hitting some bumpy roads, going off terrain and long drives, the stand was able to hold my 12.3” tablet in place. I didn’t have to worry about trying to reposition it due to not being held in place or sliding off the mount cause it’s too big. Over all, other than it being a tad small for my surface pro 7,... I am 100% content with the stand and the build of it. It is quite sturdy and and yes I would recommend it to anyone! ... show more
