    • A/C now functioning
My husbands 2007 Ford Fusion 4 cyl. air conditioning started blowing hot air a few weeks ago. After taking it to a mechanic we were told the evaporating temperature sensor was reading -40 volts and in order to repair it the cost would be $580, with $545 of that being labor. I was furious. I began researching the issue and found that this is a very common problem in 2006-2008 Ford Fusions and the cost of labor is so high because it requires removal of the entire dash, weather stripping, and center console. I found a very helpful YouTube DIY video over how to replace this part and attempted this myself. It took me two and a half hours total, but the Fusion now has working A/C, and I saved myself nearly $600. Thank you SO much for making this part available to the public.     • Recieved defective and broken
The small tab that helps lock this unit in was broken off inside packaging. Regardless i had i installed it anyway. Now with everything back together and my scan tool hooked up, this new sensor is registering -70 degrees and stuck at 5volts. Ordering a replacement. Typical motorcraft.

Gonna give 5 stars even though wasnt the problem i had bc i still have no a/c...i think this was a part for that...i dont know, i just purchase what my brother tells me to and hope for the best. Sadly this wasnt it but im sure it works fine cause it didnt mess anything else up AND my brother was able to replace it without cracking my entire dashboard so id consider it a win but sadly my hopeful simple fix is more than just that which is the story of my life...or i guess my cars life. ... show more

    • FIxed the problem
I have only had this part installed for less than 1 month. You have to take out the dashboard to replace the part on a Ford Fusion, so I hope this works for a long time. Did the job with the help of a friend and saved anywhere from $500-$600 in labor. So this $16 part was well worth it when the air conditioning came on the first time after replacing. Would have given it 5 stars, but again only in the car less than 1 month. ... show more

Install was definitely lengthy and tedious but worth saving the $500 the shop wanted to remove the dash in my fusion.

This part is deep in the dash. There are videos online that can help you tackle the job but it can be intimidating if you have never taken a dash apart. Take your time and you can save a lot of money.
