Applied to a new walnut cutting board with edge grain. Followed instructions to apply several thin coats, let it absorb for 15 minutes before applying the next, and stop when after 15 minutes, the oil was not disappearing. Let it stay for a few hours or overnight. In the morning, I applied a few additional extra layers and let it rest until dinner time. By the time we carved our first steak on that surface, the juices had raised the grain. So now I have to sand it and restart the operation. It's a good oil to use on boards already seasoned, but it did not work that great for a brand new board. Using a conditioner with mineral oil AND beeswax is probably what I should have done. ... show more
