  • Great value and quality
Style: C12RSH2S
People who complained about cut depth and other issues didn't read the manual. The manual is very comprehensive, although not totally clear in some spots, like how to cut the guard. Everything is adjustable for accuracy and use. Mine arrived spot on out of the box with only minor adjustment of the angle gauge. Built like a tank I found it more well-built and smoother than the more expensive DeWalt. And the vertical handle is more natural in use, for me, when pushing the saw through a cut. I did lots of research. Nothing better for the money. It's not just for construction. It's a woodworker's tool too. ... show more

  • Fantastic Saw - Buy it
Style: C12RSH2S
I don't typically leave a 5 star review, but this saw is great. Slides on forward facing fixed rails, exactly what I needed (and what all sliding miter saws should have). 13" wide cuts at 90 degrees, Excellent Accuracy, decent blade braking feature. Smoothly slides on rails with minimal effort. Laser is dead on (can be adjusted left or right to fit your needs). Small footprint for a 12" sliding miter saw (forward fixed rails). Square out of the box but if you need to square it up, the fence is easy to adjust. Only thing relatively average or "negative" would be the dust collection, which is to say, it is a miter saw, none of them are great at dust collection. My setup is pretty good at it but I have a shop vac hooked up to the dust port AND a small dust collector (both are dedicated to the saw) with a 4" hose split to two 2 1/2" ports to a box that is the size of its fence running to either side of the saw to collect ambient sawdust, but most people won't go to that extreme. Even if this saw were priced the same as other more expensive ones (which it is in some places), it would still be worth the cost. You cant go wrong with this saw. ... show more

  • Couldn’t be happier
Style: C12RSH2S
I finally decided to upgrade to this sliding saw, and now I wonder how I lived without it. My old saw was a Hitachi (essentially the same as this one) and I put lord knows how many thousands of cuts on that one without a hiccup, so I was confident in upgrading to this one. Built several fence projects and house additions with it so far, and it’s a work horse. Plenty of power, and because of that, it really needs to be on its own breaker. The only gripe I have is that the laser (which is very accurate) is almost impossible to see in the sun. So if I’m set up outside I’ve got to make sure I get in the shade, or I won’t be able to use the laser line. It’s a great feature and has really spoiled me. The built quality feels as good as a Bosch or Makita, but half the price. I’d definitely buy again. ... show more

  • Quality Built in Question!
Style: C12RSH2S
Quality Built is one thing, however shipping mistakes were made, apon opening the box I noticed that the saw blade assembly arm was loose and the saw blade guild, small gray plastic piece that first must be cut before using the saw was broken into pieces, the factory didn't tighten the bevel adjustment handle, what a shame, I called Metabo, they said return it, the broken gray plastic piece was the only issue, I decided to keep the Saw, it cuts fine. ... show more

  • Overall good saw
Style: C12RSH2S
My first miter saw. Pluses: * Front placement of the sliding arm design is good for storing without wasting space. * Handle design makes it easy for left or right handed person. * Dust collector bag does good job of collecting about 60% of dust. With shop vac (additional suction) I would see most dust captured. Haven't tested personally with attached vaccume yet. * Powerful motor for cutting any material. * No assembly required. Ready to use out of the box. * 5yr warranty. Although not used it yet. I have owned other Hitachi tools for over 10 yrs, just never had need to utilize it yet. Negative: * Like many other mentioned blade isn't perfect squared out of the box. You may have to tinker with it. Once I figured out what to adjust it was in the acceptable range. Keep in mind it's my first saw and not a professional carpenter. * Even after squaring blade when you slide to further pont for cut it's still little off by about less than 1/16". I think that due to sliding arm not 100% straight. Not sure if that normal for sliding miter saw or not. * Laser isn't perfect aligned with blade, especially when you slide blade all the way out. I didn't tinker with it too much. Other thoughts: * Never used the blade it came with. I ended up replacing blade with DeWalt 80T which works great for moldings. I'm sure if I had gone with 100T it would be even cleaner cuts but 80T did the job. I recommend going with 80T or higher instead of stock 60T blade. ... show more

  • Great product for the price
Style: C12RSH2S
Needed to upgrade my 10" miter saw that couldn't complete a 45° cut through a 4"x4". Once I spent a bit of time dialing the 90° settings. Fine tuning on a 4x4 horizontally and vertical. Then setting the 45° stops perfectly. I also set the 45° for the bevel cuts, both left and right. That is one nice feature The laser is adjustable to pick what side of the line you want to cut on. Can't wait to use on larger stock of wood. One thing is it's a bit bigger than I thought but it is well worth the price. ... show more

  • Does NOT cut square, NO MATTER WHAT!
Style: C12RSH2S
The saw blade drifts nearly 1/4" to the left while sliding out. If I adjust the left fence, I can align it with the blade, however, it's so far out that the right fence can't even be adjusted enough to touch the work. I am not willing to shim up a brand new tool. It needs to work effing GREAT, straight out of box. Now, I am burdened with dismounting it from my stand, finding another box to send it back in and taking it to a place to ship it while I wait for the delivery of my next miter saw. ... show more

  • Haven’t tested it beyond turning it on and spinning the blade
Style: C12RSH2S
Can’t speak about long term durability. Appears to work and function well turns on and blade rotates lot of pages in manual with explanations and warnings. Cool little widget I hope it helps serve me well in my own house construction! B)
