This is a very nice set of knives, good variety and even an extra pair of scissors included. The wood base and knives are attractive and sturdy. The knives are a little lighter weight than I expected but still very good quality for the price. I have only hand washed my knives so far so can't speak to washing them in a dishwasher. I absolutely love this set. I have tried many different knife sets over the years and this set is I mix of affordable and premium quality. All knives are sharp but even if one gets a little dull, the block has a built in sharpener. I'm definitely a fan of the steak knives. I prefer non-serrated steak knives and this set has them. The specialty knives are also a nice touch. I cannot vouch for their durability in the dishwasher because I hand wash mine. However I can say that based my use, they appear to be very durable. Very nice knife set. Terrific price. The only thing I don't understand are the instructions which say "hand wash only and dry right away". What is wrong with putting them in the dishwasher???? At any rate, the knives are sharp, high quality and all made from a single metal piece. Okay!!! Review time! Again - very skeptical about these but they match my new kitchen decor and I just fell in love with them! Finally got them and I am not disappointed! These are so gorgeous and better yet they work perfectly! Super sharp and nice grip. I love that it came with the pair of white scissors and black - of course I love the black!
