  • Typical well-designed Makita tool, a bit on the heavy side
Style: Tool Only
Easy to use and powerful enough to drive the full range of brads it is designed for. Countersink adjustment works well. It is well balanced but a bit on the heavy side compared to some other manufacturers but you probably need the mass to drive the longer brads. I'm building a book wall using 1 1/4" brads for most of the joining and 5/8" brads for the trim. Material is a combination of oak plywood and solid oak. ... show more

  • Just the right tool for the job
Style: Tool Only
I love the portability and power that this unit puts out. I see a lot of people complaining about the weight and bulkiness. It’s not a pneumatic tool so you are not even comparing apples to apple. If you are doing some DIY stuff around the house, this unit does the job. It is heavier then a standard pneumatic tool, but I’m building an entire house so I’m satisfied with it. ... show more

  • Works almost perfect
Style: Tool Only
I’ve had this nail gun for a bit now and it is definitely convenient to have over the standard air tools. Most of the time this nailer shoots correctly, but every 6-10 times when I shoot it, it ends up dry firing, but usually goes back to firing normal. Also sometimes on the first shot the nail won’t sink properly into whatever trim I’m shooting, so having a good nail set is a must. I really like the ergonomics of the gun. It’s very balanced, as opposed to a lot of similar brad nailers from other brands. Overall I like it a lot, but I would expect it to fire more consistently for the price point. ... show more

  • The tool has problem and doesn’t work anymore.
Style: Tool Only
The nail can’t go through completely under the deepest setting once every ten shoots. To add, the nail sliding holder came out a few times already I fixed it. My pneumatic Makita gun has an aluminum holder, but this product doesn’t. it came out again and again. It is really bothering me to use. Is there any way i can return and get a new ones. I attached photos showing when the holder came out and i can’t put the black pin inside it. I don’t know how to fix it. Is it possible to repair or replace it. Please let me know to change to a new one. ... show more

  • Good
Style: Tool Only
The 10% one star reviews here on Amazon made me look at nailers of other brands, despite all my cordless tools being Makita. One independent review, however, looked at the tear-out at the nail hole and found this nailer to be the best. This fact and staying with the same battery system made me buy this one, and I am content after a couple of weeks affixing maple cabinet face frames and shoe mouldings. It sinks nails consistently causing no visible tear-out or marring; only once have I had to sink a nail manually. The nose is narrow and quite easy to position where you want it. Nails load easily. It is quite heavy (and I only have 3 and 5 Ah batteries), but not heavy enough to work properly without pushing it on to the work piece. However, if you push too hard you displace the plastic protective cap on the nose which risks marring (minor in the one case it happened to me). Features which could be better: a second light lighting the other side of the nose, the depth control is stiff to operate, the battery indicator could be graduated, and the balance could be improved (it feels back weighted, even without the battery). But these are all minor complaints and in no way detract from my satisfaction with the tool. ... show more

  • My most used tool (my favorite tool too!)
Style: Tool Only
I seriously can't say enough good things about this brad nailer. I have used it for so many things. And because it is easy to load and grab when I need it, I end up using it for quick repairs almost on the daily. I have owned this tool for almost 1 1/2 years and have NEVER, not even once, had a jam or a misfired nail. I have put it through the wringer with different size brads and even different brands of brands and they all have fired without fail. This is one of the few tools that I pulled out my wallet to spend good money for and this cheapskate does not regret it one bit. ... show more

having read all the more negative reviews i purchased this anyway cause i am a makita die hard kinda guy and i have to say i was suprized that most of everything i shot together worked pretty darn good ( u just need to be smarter than the tool to use it there mr negative reviews ) its great for the small quik jobs and saves time the only bad thing i have to say is that it was a lil pricey and is a touch heavy and akward but have since gotten use to it for the most part sure the real hard oak maple etc you need an air gun but for my lower end houses its perfect adjust the depth and not all the way alway works the best making it misfire quite a bit a click back and wallah shoots every time and on a 5amp batt goes for days depending what ya doin i say try it and actaully give it 30 days of good use and then send it back if you dont like it...trim away ... show more
