Out of the box this unit works great. It is easy to customize to your specific fishing conditions but really that is not needed, the auto default settings get the job done. The FishReveal feature that overlays the sonar onto the downscan is ingenious. You can see the fish arches at the same time you are viewing the structure they are hanging around. It came loaded with detailed lake maps, GPS, easy setting of waypoints and more. My favorite feature is your ability to set up custom pages combining sonar and downscan, or side view and a chart etc. The chart, sonar, down scan and sidescan are built in and also there but you can easily add five more custom pages. Finally, there are many free in depth online tutorials from real users, some on the water, for the setup, customization and getting most out of unit that make you proficient with the fishfinder before you even hit the water. Performs well. Have had no issues with any features on the water. Tracks your routes automatically. Only issue is i cannot get it to connect to WiFi no matter what. This unit is worthless to me. It has no mapping and no way to add mapping for your gps. Just a white screen on trails, what good is that. I didnt know I ordered the 7x, I thought I bought a reveal 7 with maps. Out of my return time....gonna swith to hummingbird, wasted hundreds on an incomplete product. they made it right. new has maps....all good ... show more

I knew this would be an expensive addition to my kayak but it is certainly one I do not regret! The depth finder is irreplaceable. Being able to see the structure and differences in changes to the bottom of the water has been incredibly helpful in finding a great spot each and every time!

Did not work from out of the box, was on hold for more than an hour twice, and did not even get a sorry for your bad experience, or anything. And when they tried to ask me about it they keep getting there case numbers mixed up with other peoples, they will not get my money or any of my friend's at the fishing club either!!!!! ... show more

Changed out my Garmin on my console and moved it to the front and placed this Lowrance for running operations... mounted the transducer on the lowest part of the transom and works great at running speed....
