Very sturdy little safe. It's a good size. It's not so big to be noticed so it can be tucked into the back of a closet behind stuff. If someone had a small gun this would be a good use for it (I personally don't) but I do have some coins and savings bonds and a little jewelry just about the size of this safe.     • A roomy and easy to use storage safe

This safe stacks up well against other "safes" that it competes against. It is reasonably rugged, offers multiple mounting options, and is easy to program and use. Additionally, it roomy inside and shelf inside is a nice addition. The exterior of the safe looks nice, with a good finish and nice looking chromed plastic on the buttons and control panel. There is an external keyway to open the safe in the case of dead batteries, and the safe also comes with an external battery pack so the keypad can be powered up externally as well. The keys are not your run-of-the-mill cut keys either. They have a somewhat unique cut to them that presumedly makes the locks harder to pick. I'm no expert on this, however. These are all very handy features that are not found in every safe. The interior is lined with a soft felt material to keep items from sitting directly on the steel of the safe. There is an interior light that, while not incredibly bright, does provide enough illumination inside to offer some utility. The instructions are good enough to get the safe programmed to your desired code, but there are some questions that it leaves unanswered. These questions are not a huge obstacle to effectively using the safe however. It also comes with feet you can attach as well as anchors to allow you to secure it to a wallboard surface. Overall this is a really good option for the money. If you are looking for a "safe" to keep something out of the reach of casual passers by, this will do just fine! ... show more

This safe isn’t super fancy but it gets the job done. The plastic buttons aren’t my favorite but the safe is solidly constructed. Plenty of space for lots of small items or folded documents. I prefer to use the keys but the number pad lock works too.

This review started out being a bashing on how unsafe this safe is due to the door not being countersunk and the gap on the hinge side of it. But I couldn't bash it until I tried to break it. I'm a pretty strong guy, but no matter how hard I huffed and puffed, I could not pry it open. The 0.8 Cu. Ft. is just the right size as long as it is secured, to lock up cash, valuables, pistol etc...., and not worry about your stuff being stolen. It is not flood or fire proofed, but you can store your stuff in a flood/fireproof bag. The instructions are easy to follow and everything works as it should, except it does not show you how to open the emergency key cover. Using your right index finger or anything that will fit, push the far right side of the cover and it will pivot open for access. The foot pads are a little cheesy, but once you secure it, they should work fine. If you are securing it into cement, brick or block, the anchor nuts are thin and made of aluminum, so they may not fit tight enough to torque the bolts down, but an inexpensive trip to the hardware store will fix that. this is by no means a heavy-duty save...thin metal, a lot of plastic components..i wouldn't trust it in a public setting to keep things secure. good enough in home use. the key feature is nice, and considering how AA batteries tend to be used up, i'll probably just stick with using the keys over the keypad ... show more

This safe is small but mighty! It was larger than I had first thought it would be but still small enough to fit on the shelf in my closet. Setup was simple, and I like that I can remove the shelf if I decide to in the future. One of the features that I really like is the backup key. My husband and I purchased a combination safe years ago without a key backup system and we forgot the combo and better yet, forgot where we wrote down the code to remind us. Havin backup keys for this safe is an added benefit down the road. The alarm is loud and annoying so it will definitely be heard if anyone tries getting in the safe that isn't supposed to. The closer you are to the safe the louder it is so I messed up the first time trying to punch the code in to turn it off. The dogs started barking the second the alarm went off so I will have added security until the alarm is turned off. I've scheduled reminders with Alexa to check the batteries so I can swap them out before they go bad. I'm very pleased with this safe. It holds a lot more than it looks like it will at first glance. The safe arrived very well packed, the door was firmly packed but open with all the directions easily accessible. The safe is sturdy and the door solid and seems very secure with strong longs. Previous safes I have had, the door has been secure but was able to wiggle when pulled on, this one does not. There are bolts to put secure the safe in or on a wall. I am not that fancy, it fits perfectly under a bed, in a closet, or small space of your choosing. The inside is large enough to put documents and jewelry or any small to medium items you want to protect. I love the idea that the safe is fire resistant but that can only be determined in a fire, which I hope I never have to find out that feature.
