I have been have Lifeproof cases since my iPhone 4. I have been through a number of cases that are Lifeproof. Earlier this month, I had taken my phone in the pool and it feel a few times, but thankful it was safe. The PHOTO is of my old lifeproof case. You can see how much damage I put it through and it still holds up. The amount of times I have dropped my phone is outrageous. My phone inside looks brand new, no damage. Only negative thing I can say is when you open the charging port, little bits of stuff can go in and get inside the screen and it can drive you nuts. But other than that perfect. Lifeproof makes you do a water test before putting your phone in the case. As long as you keep snap it shut all the way around, which is a bit of a pain, it keeps your phone safe. I will continue using lifeproof as long as I’m alive or they go out of business because they hold up to my roughness. ... show more

This case was put to the test with me. My job gets a little crazy sometimes and I want to keep my phone safe through it all. I’ve dropped my phone a dozen times with this case on and it didn’t phase it or my phone at all. We have concrete floors in my office so that’s saying something. I’ve broken multiple phones on that floor. It’s been slammed in the door of a moving truck twice and nothing happened. I carry my phone in my pocket while being completely drenched in sweat and my phone is still safe with the case on. I took it on the river and it held up. The final test was our most recent flood. I was operating the flood pumps and was standing in 4ft of water. I had my phone in my pocket and when I climbed on the pump it fell out. I thought it was the tool I had in my pocket, so I didn’t rush to get it. When I reached for the tool I realized I had dropped my phone in the water and climbed back down. I dug around in the water and found it. It was as if nothing had happened. I had debated between this case and some of the other water proof cases that are much cheaper. I happened to get this one on sale and was happy I did. One of my friends has one of the cheaper ones and her phone always overheats in it and somehow dog hair gets inside. So I don’t regret my decision. The only thing I can say is that after 6 months the little rubber gasket that goes around the inside of the case started popping out every time I would take the case off. I’ve had life proof on almost every iPhone I’ve owned. This is overall no different than any other but with one unfortunate flaw. Upon receiving this, I noticed that the top portion of the case does not fully snap together. While it’s a bit of a let down considering I payed $70 for this, it’s not a deal breaker for me since I’m not frequently in a place where my phone is at risk of falling in any water. Aside from that, it’s the always solid lifeproof construction I’ve come to know and love over the years. Be aware of this issue with the case not snapping shut fully, but not 100% of them seem to have this issue. Overall, a solid product though ... show more

So I already purchased the black color version of this case, and it’s trash. Bubbles all over the screen and case does not seem to snap closed well. I ordered this one since it was on sale for almost half what I paid for the black one, and LifeProof is sending me a replacement on the black one I bought from them. SO FAR, this case (not sure if it’s because it’s a different color, if I got lucky, or what magic came to be) but this case is much better. It SEEMS, as best as I can tell to seal all the way, and while I do have SOME of the bubble/water effect it’s waaaaaay less and looks much better. The only real negative so far is that the rubber band that I guess is the seal or whatever, that’s in the back portion of the case, was just sitting inside the box. It took me about 15 minutes to get it to actually stay installed in the back portion of the case, but I am not entirely sure (but am hopeful) that it remained intact when I snapped the back together - if it did not then I assume waterproofness is gone, but I don’t want to keep uninstalling and reinstalling just to find out. My replacement for my original case will arrive next week and I may see if it’s better than my first one, but am starting to think the issues may be mainly with the black cases since they were the first ones available and maybe had a bad batch - the majority of the negative feedback I have seen has been for those. Edit - After awhile the bubble/water effect has returned — HOWEVER it is still, not yet at least, anywhere near as horrible as it is/was with the previous case. ... show more

So I bought this case after the same model kept my iPhone 6 in pristine condition for it's entire life. Battery finally gave out on the 6 (should have gotten the free replacement) so I figured an upgrade was overdue & shelled out for an 11 with all the fancy features. I'll probably trade it in after 5G has come along further and want to keep this bad boy in A+ shape. So far, I am experiencing some of the common complaints; a bit of a gap along the top seam and a little bit of the 'oil slick' thing. But honestly neither of those have been an issue for me. I get a case like this to keep my phone protected from my general clumsiness, not to take underwater selfies during Seal Team 6 excursions. Glad they finally ditched the 'I own an iPhone' window on the back for the Apple logo, always hated that look. Took 1 star off on the Touch Screen rating for the 'oil slick' thing happening a little bit where I touch the screen frequently, but no issues outside that. Doesn't seem to be getting dust inside from the small gap on the top seam, and between wireless charging and bluetooth, I rarely need to open the lightning port cover at the bottom. ... show more
