  • Very efficient
Size: 8000 BTU Style: Electronic & High Efficiency
This AC has plenty of cooling power and is much more efficient than the smaller one it replaced. My electric bill went down and it's much more comfortable. After reading other reviews, I chose to add a support bracket when I installed it, and it's very quiet, I only hear the airflow, no vibration or compressor noise at all. Thanks for the tip, reviewers. ... show more

  • bad but then great
Size: 12000 BTU Style: Wifi & High Efficiency
received first ac unit and after being installed, it would not power up. I contacted amazon and they quickly put in for a pickup and for a new ac unit to be shipped to me. within three days I had the new unit. Powered it up BEFORE installing to make sure new one worked. It worked great! cools nicely and works as should. it does make a bit of noise while running so if you're a light sleeper this may not be the unit for you, but it's not a loud noise just a medium volume humming sound. overall, very pleased and going to order another one for one of our other rooms. ... show more

  • Great for my 1500 ft shop
Size: 18000 BTU Style: Electronic & High Efficiency
First one delivered functioned electronically but didn't cool the air, Amazon took it back without any cost to me. Second one worked like a charm. I would buy another one. Nate

  • Great A/C Unit
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Wifi & High Efficiency
Have only just installed it, but I will only purchase LGs because they have lasted the longest and cooled rooms on a consistent basis. This is my first "ThinQ" (WiFi) unit, which can be controlled not only through the regular hand-held remote, but through the LG app, which has a lot more 'bells & whistles'. And it's the quietest model so far. I like that it monitors its operation and has a "Smart Diagnosis" module for trouble-shooting. Also gives current room temperature through the app. It's supposed to work with Alexa, but hasn't so far. Will keep trying. ... show more

  • A cool and quiet window AC
Size: 12000 BTU Style: Electronic & High Efficiency
A lot quieter than the Frigidaire we had before, which also broke after just a few years. Time will tell how long this one lasts, though. It seems about as well built as is typical these days. It does cool our house very quickly, but that *should* just be more a function of its BTU rating than anything. Still, I feel like manufacturers sometimes fudge this because it definitely has an easier time than that same old Frigidaire that had the same cooling rating. So LG seems like they're more honest and maybe underestimate their cooling power if anything. I have this unit cooling the entire first floor of a small house - about 650 square feet. It's 90 degrees out right now and within 30 minutes of turning this A/C on, my house is cool and the compressor is cycling on and off. It used to take my Frigidaire a couple of hours with the fans screaming like a banshee and the compressor continuously on before it'd get to that point. It seems to default back to "energy saver" every time you turn it on. Kind of annoying, but that's probably the best setting in most cases since it also won't re-humidify your room (which is what happens if the fan keeps running with the compressor off, with any AC). One thing I do wish it had in that case is an "auto-cool" mode like a Sharp AC we also have has; that automatically adjusts fan speed so it's really just a set it and forget it setting. This AC requires you to set fan speed yourself. Keep in mind this thing is really heavy - we paid for the professional installation, and you'll need some kind of bracket or support. Having the slide-out chassis is a big help but it's still really a two-person job unless you're particularly burly. I do agree with those that say the packaging is not up to par. Luckily ours wasn't functionally damaged but it did have a dent in the outer case, because there's only about an inch of free space between the casing and the box, with nothing else protecting it on the sides. Anything that hits the side of the box is probably going to hit the air conditioner casing too. LG really needs to improve this - it could easily have been worse for us, and I don't doubt that it has been for some others. I'd actually recommend buying this locally if you can. ... show more

  • Great Small Air Condition Unit for the Price
Size: 5000 BTU Style: Mechanical & Standard
Great price for a small air conditioner unit. Cools a small space in a short time. Quiet but still has some noise. Fits perfectly in my window and easy to install. No remote but switches work just as well.

  • Great Quiet and Energy Effiicient 6000 BTU Window AC.
Size: 6000 BTU Style: Electronic & High Efficiency
I was having problems with my APTs Heat Pump AC - I came in one day this spring and my AC was set to 74 but my APT was at 85. I tried for several years to get the maint dept of my bldg to recharge the Freon in my Central Air heat-pump AC but the bldg maint staff blew me off. This spring our entire floor AC was out due to chilled circulating water issues. I complained to the Office mgr (140 unit old mill bldg) and they offered to install a window AC. So I decided to buy my own and found these LG window ACs to be highly rated on Consumers Reports 75 high rated and bought and installed one. It is very energy efficient and quiet with a $45 per year electricity usage estimate and I run it at 74 degrees on energy saving mode and the fan at low and it keeps my apartment at an average 74 degrees when I run my ceiling fan also on low. It is very quiet and comfortable and I am expecting my summer electric bill to be cut in half saving the cost of this unit over the summer. I am very happy with this purchase and Amazon delivered it in very good shape. It has a filter clean warning light and when on I pop out the filter and spray some Windex on it and rinse it off on both sides and pop it back in- my summer allergies and sneezing are way down as well. This is a very good economical unit and I give it a 5 star rating. ... show more
