  • Very Good three way capable, versatile (Gooogle, Alexa, HomeKit) switches.
First of all I would actually rate this a four star over all. I have three stand alone switches and three more that are paired with three way remote switches. I consider these great for three way but I actually prefer Eve for stand alone switches only because eve doesn’t make three way. Legrand switches, like all smart switches are a bit tricky to install. They are bulky so you have to work at it to get them to fit in existing gang boxes. You also need to work with neutral wires not just positive and negative. Depending on what else is going on in your box, it can take some time to sort out. I love that these units have quick screw down terminals. It helps if you get things wrong the first time. That said it’s just a switch. When doing this three way, cap the red wire that ordinarily connects switches. They aren’t needed since these use WiFi instead. Pairing the remote switch is a total PITA and takes several tries but once you get it working, they work great and it’s worth the effort. I like that they all have a LED when the switch is off for dark room/night access. WIFI is good on these but I prefer Bluetooth of eve as it’s less finicky to set up and if your WiFi bounces or changes, it can be problematic. In my home the supplied covers tend to bow vertically a bit which drives me nuts. I throw those out and buy normal screw type covers and not the snap ons that come in box. They are fairly quick to respond to remote commands such as hey Siri. When Turing them on and off, they make a click sound that I’ve grown to like. The remote switches are also quick to control the master. The one time I did need support, it was email only and took about a day and a half, which I’d say is about par. I figured out the issue on my own anyway. I’ll keep buying these. The negative are surely outweighs by the positives. I plan to do the hardest one... two remotes and one master. No other HomeKit switch that I know of, that’s hub-less, does this. Again a little trickier to set up than eve but works with more platforms and covers three way. ... show more

  • Works but Mysterious installation
The single pole Legrand Smart switch is working as I had hoped, however, the installation process was frustrating. When "Connecting Accessory" it displayed "[In Wall Switch F720] is preparing to pair..." even though my smart switch is the HKRL10. Then I received "Incompatible network" message even though I was trying to connect the device to my 2.4ghz wifi band (not 5ghz band). I received a few "Couldn't add Accessory The setup code is incorrect" messages even though I both scanned the QR and entered the code manually. I eventually got a "[In Wall Switch F720] has been added to [MyHome]. Now pair this acessory to your home" but came back to "Error Incompatible network". Some context: i have a pair of Asus routers that are meshed together to cover a large house and they frequently switch a device from one band to the other for range reasons. I went online and found a competitve smart switch product which had a reviewer say they had to actually turn of their 5ghz network for their installation. So I tried that only to be defeated again. At this point I was out of time as guests were coming, so I left the switch wired since it worked manually like a dumb switch. Later that night I switched off the 5ghz band again and tried to get the Legrand HKRL10 to connect again. It took forever but finally rewarded me by connecting to Apple Homekit and the Legrand app. I turned 5ghz back on and the switch has stayed connected for the last 4 days. It was almost like the switch was waiting for the Legrand servers to register the device. But there wasn't much feedback as to what was actually happening. I can't speak to the longevity of this device, but would hate to have to go thru an installation like that again. ... show more

  • Great HomeKit switch at a great price
Easy to install and had extra wire segments to boot (didn't end up needing them, but good they were in there). Honestly, this was my first smart switch installation attempt and my first switch installation attempt rolled into one, so I was nervous but everything went really smoothly. PROs • HomeKit enabled, and the integration is tight and flawless. No issues at all and super responsive with Home app, Siri, Scenes, Automation, etc. • Looks great on the wall. Smooth, not overly flashy. • The manual switch toggle feels sturdy and smooth. Wish it had a little more give to require less force, but it's all good. • A subtle white LED!!!!! This gets it's own point and is worth at least 2 stars on it's own. Why the heck do other switches use bright blue LEDs?! There's no reason. This one gets huge props for using a subtle, gentle white light to do its job. CONs • So far only one: The manual rocker to toggle the switch is actually slow to activate. When you flip the switch ON, it actually takes almost a second for the light to actually turn on. Same with off. Not sure why such a delay, but HomeKit is instantaneous. • Well, ok, you can actually hear the switch going on and off. Not sure that's entirely necessary, but maybe it would be nice if it was something you could adjust in the app? Not huge, though. All in all, highly recommended, especially as one of the cheapest and best looking HomeKit switches out there. Good job, guys! ... show more
