    • Weirdly sensitive control key. Sturdy construction, though.

This keyboard has a fairly loud mechanical sound. I'm not calling this a con, it's probably what you are or should be expecting from a "mechanical" keyboard. It's not extremely loud, but it's definitely above average. The noise doesn't mean the keys are hard to press, they're actually smooth feeling. My main/only complaint about it really is that for some reason the control key is counting as pressed when I graze it with my pinky finger as I type, and so I'm accidentally pressing CTRL+<letter> often and then having windows or program shortcuts trigger. Other than this, I really like the keyboard and mouse a lot. They're well built, the lighting modes are varied/cool. It's got the function shortcuts for sound and things like that. So, just docking 1 star for the accidental key press (this doesn't happen to me on any other of 6 keyboards I use on a regular basis). ... show more

The keyboard is everything I would expect from a gaming keyboard. I honestly didn't understand the significance of red vs blue switch until writing this review. I guess the red ones are supposed to be quieter and less clacky. This keyboard has the red switches and it is pretty quiet. I do appreciate having quiet yet mechanical keys. I didn't even know they existed, so this was a nice revelation for me. I'm not really a PC gamer anymore (it's been about 15 years), so I use this stuff for work instead. I think it's cool that the key caps are removable and they included a tool to help you pull them off, but honestly, I have no idea why I would ever want to remove them... maybe just to scramble them as a practical joke? The RGB lighting on the keyboard is beautiful and has LOTS of adjustability as far as brightness and motion pattern, but it's not quite what I would consider to be true RGB. It's generally a left-to-right rainbow with each key having its own permanently-fixed color along the spectrum. No key ever seems to change color... just brightness. But it's still REALLY cool. Each key is lit independently and is able to gradient it's brightness up and down independently, which makes the motions and breathing effects so cool. I also like that the color on the mouse is very muted, so it's not too distracting. The mouse is exactly what I would call "full-sized" and comfortable. The forward and back buttons on the side are not prone to accidental presses, so I really appreciate that. And of course the DPI is fully adjustable. I LOVE corded mice and keyboards. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I will always prefer a cord. No batteries required, and the mouse never goes to sleep. I'm very happy with this set. ... show more

    • Very Nice Keyboard Looks Great

This is replacement keyboard for a similarly priced one from another manufacturer that after a year of use the keys started to disappear. I hope this one will last longer and so far it does seem better made than other keyboards at this price point. I will only know for sure after a longer period of use, and I will update this review if anything changes. Right now it looks really nice, I like the backlight color and if feels better than other brands I have experienced. I now have a collection of keyboards I can tell you if you are shopping in the 20-50 dollar range then I have some advice. Never buy a keyboard with Painted on letters, they will fade within months making the keyboard almost useless. Look for Etched Keys that are backlite like this keyboard. But I will say after a year the etched backlite keyboard I bought previously for 25 Dollars somehow managed to have the letters fade away and the etching disintegrate making the letters disappear. Longer usage will be the deciding factor with how well the letters hold up, and I will certainly be using this keyboard for a while. The mouse is a Bonus for me as I really only needed the keyboard, but it seems to work well too, with no issues to report. ... show more
